Disney TV at Sears for $29! Better Hurry

My opinions, though some think I shouldn't have any on this subject

Ordering, paying for and receiving the merchandise at the posted price - no problem.

Trying to find ways to still get the merchandise even though your order has been cancelled - shady.

Ordering, paying for, receiving item, then company refunding - too funny (IMO).

Sears cancelling orders because of a pricing error - well within their right.

Sears lying about the reasons for orders being cancelled - just plain wrong.

::yes:: I agree..

walmart online 13" disney tv princess or mickey $98.99 or $98. something plus if you live by fort worth tx you can have free shipping to the store.

4) The person who got the cancellation and refund but "got the TV anyway" actually stole the TV. I would have called and made an offer to either return the TV or pay a reduce price for it, not the $149.99. This is stealing. We all know this is stealing and like 3 will cost me money.

How did she steal it, she paid $29.97 for it - I thought when you stole something you didn't pay for it.

My gosh, such self-righteous people at this website.

I think is in reference to the fact that the she didn't actual pay for the TV since Sears refunded the money even though it was already picked up. I personally find that too funny.

Interesting note on that - I spotted an error, a prcing error - on Target's website recently and e-mailed them to let them know so another "Sears fiasco" would not errupt on a message board or three. The reponse was computer generated and you could tell was never actually read (the response had little do with what I wrote). ANYWAYS, some people do try and do the right thing even if they dont benefit.

WOW - well done - Target at least probably took care of it.

You did nothing wrong, as it was not known to be an error at the time. Sears did nothing wrong on your fridge either, thats the rate for repairs.

It must be nice to charge $75 to have some go into my house, plug something into my tv for 2 minutes, give me the results and be out of there within 5 mins - wondering if they have any openings!! (probably not since we all dishonestly stole $120 from them!)

Dont understand that one...

Merchandis prices are set by market supply and demand. It's not overpriced if people pay it. CEOs are paid by market rates. Paying the CEO 20,000 wont make Sears or any other company magically make money.

Nobody derserves $10 million like some of these CEOs are making. One of the reason why I don't go to sporting events. I don't agree that the players should make $20 million a year and the fans should pay $200/ticket - exercising my rights here.

And you should. Shop somewhere else when you are wronged. Dont buy a product of you feel ethically you should not. I have not bought a snapple in 4 years because of an ad campain i felt was in bad taste - i will let others do what they decide to as right.

Bottom line is we all are getting too worked up (on either side of the fence) over a small issue. Lets all take a deep breath and pretend we are experiencing (insert you favorite attraction at WDW name here).

I'm on Big Thunder Mountain!! Anything more than that makes me sick!!

Best wishes.
Let's agree to disagree!!

Very easy. She placed an order, they took payment, they told her to wait for the confirmation and then pick it up, she did not wait and picked it up, they cancelled the order, they refunded the money and she has a TV. That is not paying for it that is taking something that you were not entitled to. Since she took something that she did not pay for, she stole it. If she tried to make restitution and they said to keep it, then it was a gift. No attempt to make restitution, so not a gift.

ETS: BTW - Find a post that I made that shows that I do wrong, know it and then not make restitution? Why do you have a problem with my being an honest person? I can be self-righteous if I do not do these things.

Boy I'm so glad that you know what happened

For those of you who would like to know the actual facts. I placed an order and printed out the confirmation of my order. About and hour and half later the inventory clerk from my local Sears called because he was confused by the $4 item also listed (which was the extended warranty - he thought it might have been a cable or something). When I explained what it was, he told me that my TV was ready for pick-up. 5 HOURS after I placed my order when my mom got to my house, we loaded up the kids and went and picked up the TV. Got to Sears merchandise pick-up and ran my credit card thru the automated system, it pulled up my order and 2 minutes later the clerk was out with my TV on a dolly. Sears still has every right to process my order with the credit card company! NO STEALING involved!!! I placed an order and picked it up!

PLEASE don't go accusing people of stealing when you have ABSOLUTELY NO facts surrounding the situation.

That's actually kind of funny that they could screw up that much. Not sure what I would do in that situation and definately wouldn't post it here with so many "honest" people around.

I went to the mall Sat. morning around 10:00am to pick mine up. I called first to see if they had one, asked if they would match internet price and they said they would. Went there (without a printout because we didn't know it was an error at that time), they looked it up on the internet and honored it. Had I been back and forth to the store being jerked around I may be angry enought to keep it too. I know I definately wouldn't give them my credit card # again - don't trust them with it after reading all this.

I'm just sick of people preaching what's right and wrong. Just reminds me of Tammy Faye Baker's hubby (funny thing is I remember her name but not his). Preaching and meanwhile he's in the back room with whomever he can get his hands on. I'm not implying that here, just stating my thoughts.

Let's just all breath!! Let us be thankful for the fact that we've not suffered through recent hurricanes(my prayers are with you folks in LA, etc), earthquakes, serious bird flu's etc. We have homes over our heads and food to eat! I'm just praying for my hubby over in the middle east to be safe each and every day. Please don't judge each other over $29 t.v."s. In my opinion life is tough enough the way it is. Just my two cents! :grouphug:

Could you please point me to where you ever stated that you got a confirmation? I looked and cannot find it. Everybody that I remember who posted on this one stated they took a printout of the order and not a confirmation to get it from Sears. So I stand-by what I said before with the facts that you had provided. According to you a confirmation arrived. But that does not change the facts that you never paid for it. If you called them, on their dime, and they said to keep it then good for you.

Uh, right here:

Can you point out to me where I didn't. :confused3  The issue is now between Sears and my credit card company since I've already authorized them to charge my account for the TV at the $29.97 price. I see absouletly no need to go thru the process again when it has already been done!

mickeyfan2 - why can't you just admit you were wrong because of lack of facts?

You are absolutely correct Tinkerbell32 but when this mickeyfan2 character personally attackes me like he/she/it did in another post I'm not holding back. Actually mickeyfan2, you seen to be pissing off a lot of people on these posts with your "honesty". Anyone else agree??

Just to share useless info his name was Jim. Now if I could forget it. ;) :teeth:

I agree and there is another one who always shows up in threads like these...must be nice to be so special

Yes you did, but after my statement. I just pointed out that PRIOR to my post no fact was given about a confirmation. In my original post, I state that if you ordered (prior to the error being know) and got a confirmation and picked it up I was ok with that. That was before #4.

Whatever
Look at my timeline of posts and the situation is quite obvious except for those who want to continue to persecute those who have done nothing wrong!

:wave2: Can we all Please be nice here? They are going to shut down this thread because of people arguing over this . Lets keep it nice and clean, so this will stay opened and we can all see the outcome of what happens with Sears if anything at all.
