Disney TV at Sears for $29! Better Hurry

I also ordered Sat. Am--had no clue it was a price error. Amazon had a 13 inch Little Tykes Tv for clearance for $25, so I figured this was along the same lines. (and no different than the .49 items at Childrens Place I had gotten on Friday)

I am lucky that I got a tv from Circuit City--the mgr there said, we dont usually match online comp. prices, and this is prob. a price mistake, but oh well--Im going to honor it. (as his sales associate is staring in disbelief) He also said, I will only be able to do one per person though--and me and my friend were fine w/ that. And guess what, Circuit City has new loyal customers and I went on to spend another $50 in movies for the kids at Circuit City.

Read the whole thing, ball was dropped on both sides. Hmm....$ 150.00 tv for $30.00 - sounds too good to be true! Yes, Sears is wrong for not contacting each and every customer to cancel these orders. I'm also sure that everyone who has received "free" tvs has contacted Sears to get the charge straightened out! This is a public relations nightmare! Perhaps if Sears had done what The Disney Store did several years ago and shut down the site for the weekend(due to redemption of an internet spread code that many were not eligible to use) then you all would not have even had the opportunity to try to order the tv. I tried to access that item all weekend to see why the feeding frenzy, but the Sears.com link to the item would not work. I had no intention of purchasing, yet I find it interesting that many posters feel that Sears should be obligated to honor what was indeed a pricing error. Do they owe anyone more than an apology, no! While complaint after complaint is registered about this, it all still boils down to being an error. McDonalds ran the Monopoly contest and had a corrupt production company that rigged the prizes yet people flocked there for the Disney toys. Errors happen everyday and this is one that got exploited. Had it been a few units, no one ever would have heard of this.

I have been chasing deals since 1998 with freebies from Drugstore.com and others way back when compliments of the dealhunters at mycoupons.com who used to post about them left and right. Free Reebok shoes, free toiletries, free food, free shavers.... oh the good old days. :smooth: I am not new to dealhunting that's for sure.

Ah, yes...those sure were the good old days.....

I'm also a MC'er from way back. Who doesn't remember the $5 Sears coupons from then too???? Heck, I'm still using dryer sheets, lightbulbs, and propane tanks from then, lol!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I wonder whatever happened to the person that came up with that bright idea? :rolleyes1

I also remember the days of being able to "click your way to Disney". :cloud9:

Congrats to those that got their tv. To those that didn't...hang in there another deal will come along soon.

Jennifer. :dog:

I don't think anger should be directed to me...

Someone plz post with any resolution.

Come on! Let's EVERYONE not act like children.
Sharing personal experiences is fine.
Little personal jabs at others is NOT fine.

Let's just be nice!

If you read the disclaimer in grocery stores, the max price where the item will be free if priced incorrectly is $2.00 - limit one of the item.

No at my local stop & shop - I got a free 2 lb bag of shrimp that was on sale but didn't ring up correct (about $25).

ITA - I also went to the site because I wanted to see if the Princess tv was on sale....nope that was showing $104 and then if I tried to click on the Mickey one it would show an error.

This also reminds me of the Fl rate glitch that recently came about. Although without filtering through all the posts - are some people saying that Sears told them their CC was declined to stop the order?

 Sorry Beth!

Lilygator--that is exactly what happened in many cases. As an example of just how goofy this whole mess is, I placed two separate orders (one Sunday evening, one yesterday morning). The first order showed confirmed, and I printed out the order number. However, I never received a confirmation e-mail. That's when I learned of the apparent "mistake" that Sears made (keep in mind this "mistake" had been up for the entire weekend, and it wasn't just a simple price, it actually showed the savings and everthing). I placed a second order on Monday morning. I received a confirmation e-mail on that one. Yesterday afternoon, I got an e-mail saying the first order was cancelled due to a pricing error, and my credit card would be refunded. Then, I got a second e-mail referencing the same order that said my order was cancelled as my credit card was declined. I called Sears and all they could tell me was the order was cancelled. When I inquired about the suggestion that my credit card was declined (even though Chase showed two charges!), she was speachless. To show how screwed up they are, I still haven't received a cancellation for the second order, and it shows "processed" on their web site.

I don't have children, and I don't need another television; however, the deal was great, and the television would be a nice donation during the holidays to our "Toys for Tots" program in the area. My only beef with Sears is their positivley horrible handling of this matter. IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE--DO SOMETHING ASAP. Don't allow folks to continue to purchase an item that you have no intention of providing. And, don't lie about the reason for cancelling orders. The world is full of overpriced retailers these days, and I, for one, will not be giving my $$ to Sears ever again.

I looked online @ Sears and their advertising them for $104.00. Help, I want to order one online!!!
Pam

Check out how many of these showed up on Ebay. Some even dutch auctions! Looks like a lot of people were able to get them!

And I personally think that was wrong..to buy in large quantities to resell when they knew what was going on? Many on here only wanted to buy for themselves

Like some of the others I have been going to sites like mycoupons for years. There are actually deals like this frequently and they are not price errors.

I got a cancelation notice and a cc declined notice yesterday. I'm wondering why there is still a charge from Sears on my account today if my credit card was declined.

What I would like to know is why I still have a charge to my cc, the order status says processing, yet Sears sent me email saying they canceled the order ( I got it yesterday afternoon). I just checked my credit card and the charge is still there. According to the email, my account was credited. I am giving them a few more hours to post, and then I will decide what I will do.

just received this email-

Thank you for contacting Sears.

We apologize for the confusion and misinformation regarding the emails.
Your credit card did not decline. The order canceled due to a pricing
error on Sears.com. Please see our policies through Customer Service on

than why send me numerous emails and call me at home yesterday telling me otherwise? this is why I am upset...
