My kids big gift for Christmas this year will be a trip to DW in Feb, staying at the Beach Club for 6 nights. They are 7, 11, and 12 and have ben to Disney many times, although their last trip was about 2 1/2 years ago so I think they will be super excited (especially my DS7 who talks about Disney every single day).

Anyways, trying to think of a way to give them their gift. They are getting several other presents so I don't want to spend a lot of additional $$ presenting the gift. So far I bought them each a Disney beanie baby but haven't gotten any further than that. I'll probably get them each a t-shirt or sweatshirt too but not sure what to do with them. I've surprised them before but I've always just woken them up on the day that we are leaving and told them.

Any great ideas?

I have done a Christmas surprise for a Feb trip before. Disneystore.com has these shirts that say "I'm going to Walt Disney World". I got those for the kids and they opened those last....once they read them and understood what we were trying to say (they were 4 and 6 at the time), their reaction was priceless! :goodvibes

We are surprising my 5 year old son on Christmas with our February trip. I filled a shoe box with stuff for the trip: a kids guidebook, some small disney stuffies, an Olaf shirt, Mickey luggage tags. I wrapped it in Mickey paper and its sitting under my tree KILLING me with anticipation. I can't wait to see his reaction.

Oh thank you. Now I know how I will eventually let each kid know they are having "their" trip. :D

We did a surprise February trip one year with a Christmas reveal. I got a small blank jigsaw puzzle kit (I think it was 15 pieces) from a craft store and put the message "We are going to Disney World in February" across it, being sure to break up words across pieces. Then I put a piece in each wrapped gift - I had one gift selected as the first to open and the piece in it was in an envelope with instructions to find all the other pieces.

We're surprising our kids on Christmas with the news of our January trip. Our 18 month old won't care, but I'm hoping for a great reaction from our 5 year old!

I'm not doing anything very creative, though, mostly what a lot of the posters here seem to do. I bought them each some Disney store loot that they can use on the trip (plushie, fleece Mickey blanket, t-shirt, autograph book) and wrapped them individually. I'll be putting them back into the big Disney box they were delivered in along with a Mickey balloon and a sign ("We go to WDW in xx days!"), then will wrap THAT and put it under the tree on Christmas Eve.

I figure even if it's a basic sort of reveal, my kiddo will still flip out and get excited.

Jigsaw puzzle announcements are fun. We did the same thing for the birth of our third son. We wanted gender to be a surprise. I made "It's a Boy!" and "It's a Girl!" puzzles - same color scheme, just different word, and left the boxes with the waiting room nurse. When we found out, we cued the nurse to deliver box no. 1 to our families in the waiting room. They were all hunched over this table trying to put together a 50-piece puzzle to find out. Really pissed them off! lol.

Word of advice - put the announcement on a picture background. Words on a blank background are really tough to assemble!

I'm also giving a first Disney trip (February) to my sons for Christmas. We won't have the magic bands in time, so we're making a basket with a couple of small stuffed mickeys, a kid's guidebook, some fake "tickets" and some mouse hats.
