So we have a trip planned for 8/5/16-8/13/16.
We absolutely have to go these dates as we are going with friends and this is the only time they can get off. We have been once beginning of November and it was wonderful but now with these dates Im kind of nervious. The heat isnt a worry to me as im from TX (currently live in NY) my bigger worry is the crowd im not a brilliant planner so im kind of iff on what to do we have 4 day base tickets and we also are thinking of typhoon lagoon and hopfully a beach day in between. We have 4 adult a 7,8,2,3 yr olds. We will not be doing DDP. So please any tips, advice ect is well appriciated. Also exactly how horrible are crowds going to be and strategies to make the most of it?

I count NINE days at WDW (first and last, inclusive.)

We arrive at 11:30 pm ( a waste I know)
But we all budgeted for 4 park days and a few off days

Have you actually PRICED adding days to your park tickets?

It only costs $15 (plus 97 cents tax) to add a 5th park day to a 4-day MYW ticket.
(And, $15 more to add a 6th day.)

Yes I just actually realized that LoL I think I may go ahead and add the 5th day and maybe do Sun, Mon, take Tues off go again Wed Thurs and Fri
or do Sun, Mon, off Tues, go again Wed off Thurs go again Fri, sat

Or is it a bad idea to actually go to a park the day we leave

We are staying at ASM stayed at contemporary last time and while it was great this time we are doing ASM
We have stayed there a couple of times over the past year and a half. I really like the resort. So, if it was me, it would depend on what time you are leaving the last day as to whether it is worth it to go to a park. You could do Sunday, Monday, off Tuesday (beach or Typhoon Lagoon), go Wednesday, off Thursday (beach or Typhoon Lagoon), Go Friday, the Saturday to the park where you want to spend the least amount of time. With the ages of the children, you could probably hit the highlights at HS and be out by early/late afternoon (assuming Saturday is your departure day). We've done HS our last day several times, riding ToT, RnRc, Star Tours, Toy Story Mania and/or Frozen Sing Along, and QS lunch, depending on what time our flight leaves. When we do this, we are usually out of there by 2 or so.

Well our flight leaves at 9 pm
Well, then that leaves you plenty of time to visit a park, in my opinion. If you add the 5th day, then you can revisit a park. I would consider MK since there is so much to do and it's hard to get everything in visiting for one day.

Yea thats what I was thinking what is your advice on fast pass should I set up for am or pm after we come back from our break

Wait, what happened to all of the other posts in this thread? I don't think there was anything I or others posted that came close to warranting a post to be deleted? Just standard vacation advice.

That is strange...

While we don't take breaks in the afternoons, our strategy, for the most part, has always been to get there at rope drop, stand in line for a some things, then FP later in the morning, and try to obtain additional FP or find shorter lines in the afternoon/evening. You could RD in the morning, take your break, and FP in the evenings. Either way, rope drop is going to be best to maximize the amount of rides you want to do, if that is your goal. In some parks, it is nearly impossible to get additional FP's for the more popular rides, so keep that in mind, too.

I don't know about that first week of August, but we've done middle August (16th) and the crowds are so manageable, we love it
Again, not sure about when you're going and if the week makes a difference.

We are going with 2 of the most complaing little kids ever LoL so we are deff going to do rope drop and goi half day then lunch pool rest an hr or so and back to the park except for AK that is because it tends to close earlier we will probably try and push straight through till around 3ish
If we do DHS which we most likely will then probably will go thr later half of the day
