We are traveling to WDW Oct 27-Nov 3 with 4 kids: 8, 11, 14, 16. We are flying Southwest. We're fruit to decide if we should purchase the travel insurance. It would cost $152. SW has a no change fee policy. Thoughts?

As with any insurance, you should assess your financial risk relative to what you would be paying for insurance. For flights, SW won't charge you to change or cancel. For a Disney package, under 45 days, you would either incur a $200 cancellation penalty or a $50 change fee if you just wanted to modify the trip to another time. ADR's are easily cancelled for free as is just about anything else you might incur during the trip without any costs. Personally, I wouldn't take the insurance, and that's exactly the decision I made for my trip (also using Southwest) later this month.
Last year there was a hurricane heading through NY on the day we were scheduled to return home. All flights were cancelled out of all airports and we could not fly back in until four days later.
Our trip insurance covered our food expenses and lodging. We were elated. You should look into the policy and make note of just what is covered and how much coverage each person gets as there are limits.

I purchased the Disney offered insurance 2 years ago for our last trip as we were taking a cousin who had MS with us. Our flight home was delayed then cancelled(due to storms in Orlando) The insurance reimbursed me for the cost of a hotel for the night and our meals. There are limits to the amount it will reimburse per day, but it seems reasonable to me. I want to say it was $120 a night per person or something to that effect.
