Disney Travel Asking AKL reserv. to Move!!!

I sure am worried about my trip now. I hope everyone gets what they want. I sure want to stay at the AKL.

I took the upgrade. We were booked with pool view at AKL. We moved to SSR and are getting about a $1k credit. I didn't want to chance staying at the AKL and not having all the "magic." They ran out of studios (2 of us) and are giving us a 1-bedroom (July 8-16th).

Excellent DEAL!! King bed and jacuzzi tub, can't get those at the AKL. There will be so much room, you'll get lost in your suite.
And cash back too!! What a sweet deal! Congratulations.

ALso they will only move us where there is an availability! oh and they will discount rooms! Where is there an avail at 17 days out!
what is ADRS?

I hope everything works out for you. I also noticed the question you had about ADRs. This means Advanced Dining Reservations. I hope you have some or you will wind up eating counter service meals your whole trip. You are able to make dining reservations 180 days out so they fill up fast.

Good luck.

she is swtiching us the the polynesian.///// no discount the same... I yelled a little and all she can through in is a no hassle firworks display at epcot!!!
oh and it is a graden view room.
any thoughts?

Lori

I would actually view that as an acceptable solution. Being that you have young children, a good deal of your time will probably be spent at the Magic Kingdom. The monorail will be very convenient too. Plus, with all the construction at AKL, perhaps there wouldn't be many animals out to view with the Savannah View? It's too bad you didn't get a discount, but the fireworks show sounds like fun. Just my thoughts..........
:goodvibes

garden rooms are very nice there
the poly is so nice and relaxing
I saw someone post about ADRS I hope you made them if you plano n sit down meals. They book up quick!

I would check out Tikimans site its all about the Poly
just google it

The same so that means no additional costs to move from AKL to Poly? I think that is acceptable too. The Poly is a very nice resort and of course normally costs more money than AKL.

That'll be awesome! Very nice.:goodvibes

1st, you are on monorail line and you can zip back to hotel for naps and don't have to worry about buses (you can also take a cute little boat). I would take Poly over AKL with younger kids just fo that reason.

Poly has a nice sandy "beach" area for kids to play. Zero entrance pool area--great for little ones and rock slide perfect for a 6 yr old. Nice tiki bar right by pool. Free life jackets. PAddleboat, etc. rental. AKL and Poly pool aer a too-up, but I like Poly's a bit more. Also, I like Poly's grounds. You can go over to AKL lodge and walk around, go for kids activities, or evening for firepit, and walk on walkways to view savannahs.

At Poly--Ohana's has character meal for breakfast and fun dinner. Kona CAfe is supposed to be very good.
Also, easy monrail ride to Contemorary, in case you are doing Chef Mickey's. Rooms used to have 2 DBLs or Queens with daybed.

I think you got a good deal. If I'm remembering right, a Poly garden view is more expensive than the AK savannah view. The room will be much larger and just renovated at the Poly. I'm glad you stuck to your guns on that one. I wouldn't have taken their first (and supposedly only) offer either.

ok,I guess this turned out to be a freat solution for us and the 3 kids!!! Wheew I guess a no hassle fireworks pass is good too!! hmm guess it all worked out for the good!

I did not want that either. I was sooo bummed when they called!!!! glad it all worked out. 16 days till we leave and it was tooo much drama for me. but I guess we got an upgrade for free. hope this does not mean this is our only dream!
oh and she said if enough people don't move then they will move some when they check in!

Lori

Glad you got something you are happy with. Now you need to change your signatures.

I think we will be seeing more threads like this!!

I think you are going to get VERY spoiled by getting to stay at the Poly. It's my understanding that it's more expensive than AKL - AND getting to be on the Monorail with little kids will be worth it's weight in gold.

I have stayed savannah view at AKL and while VERY nice - I'd switch to the Poly in a heartbeat in your situation.

I'm excited, hopefully the bf still isn't pouting by the time we get there. Were paying less for this trip than we did for our trip last year, while staying at POP. And getting $1,100 back (to pay for our dining!). :yay: :yay:

They said they are moving a TON of people. can you imagine 3 floors of people a week. Have to change luggage tags etc. but I think this worked out for the better in the end! We were set on AKL but I think getting the Poly for a lot less money is great! And vip seating for epcot's fireworks is great! Glad I stuck to my not wanting SSR. I think it is a downgrade from AKL! But soon no one will have a choice in where they can stay it will be SSR or nothing!

Lori

oh, forgot to say, WL, GF and Contemporary were all booked. Had no option but SSR! And got the Poly because I said the SSR was unacceptable.

Wow..what a stressful situation so close to your trip. I'm so glad it all turned out to be a blessing for you. We're booked at the AKL in December and I'm starting to get very nervous about our plans. If I got there and they tried to move us I'd freak.
What is a "no hassle fireworks pass"? I've never heard of that.
