Hello wise disers.:worship:

I am a first timer to WDW and want to finalise how we are getting around to a couple of our ADR's? (In 12 sleeps :woohoo: )
Ideally, we would like to use Disney transportation not a cab as we are travelling as a family of five. If you use a cab, what do you do for the DD2 that would need a carseat?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

my questions:

1. POP to GF then after ADR to TL
2. DS to WL then after ADR to MK
3. POP to POFQ (drop of parcel) then to Poly then after ADR to POP

Finally, would it be possible to go to Boma(7:45am) then back to POP in time to catch DME to airport for a 12:35 flight? And if yes, how do we travel the disney transportation to do so.

TIA

Buses are possible but can take a while. Buses run approx every 20 minutes and can take 20 minutes depending on how far you are going. Buses run from resort to parks or resort to DTD. When going between resorts, you will have to go to a park or DTD and catch the other resort bus there.

ME to the airport will pick you up at your resort 2-3 hours prior to your flight time. You may have scheduling problems there.

If you want to use the disney transportation then
1 - bus to MK, then resort monorail to GF. If the boat to the GF is at the dock or coming towards the dock that may be faster since the GF is the first stop after the MK.
After the ADR take the bus to TL
2. Bus to WL then after ADR take the boat to MK
3. the longest by bus since each trip requires changing buses. From POP take the first park bus that comes, change at that park to the PO bus. Then take bus to MK and then monorail to Poly. After ADR take monorail to MK and then bus to POP.

If you are using ME to get to the airport, they will pick you up for a 12:35 flight around 9:30. This pickup time is not negotiable. If you miss your scheduled bus, ME is not obligated to get you to the airport on time, and it's possible they may not even be able to get you onto another bus, although they would try to do so.

(Edited: I just noticed that you are from Canada. If you are flying internationally, they may require an earlier pickup.)

Going from Boma to Pop Century will mean you have to switch buses. The best route is probably to bus to AK from AKL and switch to the Pop bus there. Building in the possible up to 20 minutes necessary to wait for each bus, plus the time it will take to make a stop at Blizzard Beach, which your bus will do if Blizzard Beach is open, you should allow at least an hour to get from AKL back to Pop.

Also keep in mind that your DME pickup time is the time the bus leaves the resort, not the time it arrives. It's suggested that you be at the resort pickup point with your entire party and everything you're carrying with you on the bus 10-15 minutes before that time. This means you need to be there by about 9:15 (if you are using the regular, non-international-flight pickup time.) To be there by 9:15 you would probably need to think about leaving Boma at 8:15. Assuming you are seated exactly at your ADR time, you have 45 minutes to eat, pay and leave, and that is with everything going perfectly.

If your pickup time is earlier because you have an international flight, it's doubtful you'd be able to make it back for your bus at all.

I agree with above post. The only problem I see is on your departure day. Since there is no resort to resort buses, you would have to bus to a park that has morning EMH since parks don't open till 9 AM, I'm not sure exactly when buses start operating. You would have to do the same when leaving, bus to park, then to your resort. Disney says allow 1 hour for transportation so you'll need 1 hr. before & 1 hr. after for travel time. If you really want to do Boma for breakfast I would do taxi. Should find one to accommodate 5 people, Pop will help you.

I generally agree with the above but for the trip from POP to POFQ I wouldn't necessarily take the first resort bus - I would take one going to DHS or Epcot as those are keeping you closer to POFQ than driving on your bus all the way to MK or AK and then back to POFQ.

I would also consider - since its just a drop off having just one person take a taxi there and then get the bus from there to wherever the rest of the group is going.

I would do the last day breakfast at the airport instead of Boma. Much less anxiety. If you wish you can arrange (at least a day in advance) an earlier Magical Express bus back to the airport.

I stay at POP all the time and my advice to you is to use the Disney buses as little as possible! They are not a very reliable form of transportation during the day if you are trying to get somewhere by a certain time. They say the buses run every 20 minutes, but in my experience has been anywhere from 15-45 minutes depending where you are and/or where you're going. If it is not possible for you to drive a personal vehicle, then I would recommend watching your time closely.

For example, from POP, you have to take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then walk to either the Resort Monorail or to the station at the Contemporary. Then take the monorail to GF. I assume there will either be a TL bus from GF or you have to take the monorail to the TTC and get on a bus there. I'd leave at least an 1-1.5 hours for this.
