Hello,

If I have a disney hotel booked for before the cruise to get the transportation (if it works that way, first timer), and an out-of-Disney hotel booked for the night we arrive to Port Canaveral, will Disney still transport me back to the area?

DCL Transfers are not automatic or free, regardless of where you stay. Be sure to sign-up for transportation if you want to take the DCL bus. I believe it's $39 per person one-way to/from WDW resorts and Port Canaveral, or MCO and Port Canaveral. Where are you staying post-cruise?

The Disney Cruise buses (which, as lanejudy pointed out, require advance reservations) run only between Disney hotels and Port Canaveral, and between the Orlando airport and Port Canaveral. They will not take you to a non-Disney hotel. I am not sure whether they check that you have a hotel reservation before taking you to a Disney hotel.

😱 well, I was unaware. We are staying an at offsite timeshare hotel. I just wanted to get a few nights before the cruise inside property to start feeling the magic :)

Noted, my idea was to go to the disney hotel then uber to the hotel we would be staying at. Just weighing in options

FYI... WDW used to provide free transportation (Magical Express) from MCO to the WDW onsite resorts; that was cancelled last year. There are various options including shuttles similar to ME, Uber/Lyft, taxi, car rental, private car service, etc.

DCL Transfers have always included a cost. While convenient, if you have more than 3-4 in your party it may be less expensive to use another mode of transit to/from the port.

Would be two in our party, thank you for the info! I do wanna spend maybe 3 nights in Orlando before the cruise, so I think we will have to use the WDW transport
