Disney Transport to Character Breakfast?

We will be arriving in the land of Magic on Saturday 16th October and have a character breakfast booked at 8.20am at Chef Mickeys on Monday 18th.

We are staying at OKW and don't plan to hire a car until a few days later. Therefore we are relying on the disney transport to get us to the breakfast in time!

What time do the buses start running? how likely is it that we will make the 8.20am booking?

MK opens at 9am, get bus to there and walk across to Contemp, depending which stop you are at within OKW it takes as little as 10 mins, we were at last stop (Millers Rd) last month, from our stop to Hospitality house then straight to MK took 10-15 mins. Sometimes longer waiting for a bus than actually on it.

Buses start upto 2 hours before park opening, 7am so you will have no problems but double check in resort. http://www.wdwinfo.com/transportation/bus_schedules.htm

I have made a 7.10 am reservation for CM and a 7.30 one. The buses start at about 6.15 am - expressly to get guests to character meals.

You need to wait for the MK bus. At MK you can either hop on the monorail for a 2 minute ride to the Contemporary or you can walk, which will take about 10 minutes. I would allow at least an hour from leaving OKW to give you time to transfer and check in at CM. Keep in mind that these early buses don't run quite as frequently as in regular hours so rather be waiting for the bus a little early. Since you don't have a ridiculously early reservaton though you are likely to catch some of the early birds heading for rope drop at the parks so be sure to factor in extra time anyway. Also not a bad idea to check if MK is having morning EMH that day as this will make the MK buses around 7 am a bit busier than usual.

Don't worry the buses start very early. We had adr's at 8am several days last trip and were fine getting there on the bus.

We are at OKW same time as you - doing chef mickey 8am on the 16th.

If it makes you feel any better, you can stop at your resort front desk the night before and ask them to confirm the time for the first bus the next day. But anything after 7.30 am will give you PLENTY of time. Enjoy your breakfast!

agree with 2Tiggies, allow an hour to get from OKW to CM and as Wayne sadi could only take 15 mins if the bus arrives just after you arrive at your stop at OKW.

If time is really tight a cab will cost about $12
