Hi, we are leaving in just over 3 weeks for our first cruise - yeah!!
We were planning on driving but my dad has offered us his frequent flyer miles so we are now flying - another yeah!!! We will be flying in very early the day before the cruise and will be staying at the Radisson at the port. We are thinking about renting a car since we will have all day to explore (and maybe make a side trip to Downtown Disney). My question is, can I just call Disney and book one way transfers for our way back to the airport after our cruise? And, if I do, how does the luggage checking work? Do we just leave it outside our doors the night before and then not see it again until we get to our destination? That scares me a little. Our flight leaves MCO at 12:45 and we are flying with USAir if that makes a difference. Thanks!!!

You can purchase the DCL transfers back to MCO at Guest Services on the ship. If you leave your luggage out the night before you debark, the crew will have it out in the terminal the next morning. You claim it, go through Customs, and then you can check your luggage (if USAir is still doing port check-in). If you keep your luggage the last night, you are responsible for getting it off the ship.

Hope that helps............

Oh, and does anyone know how much the one way transfers are per person? Thanks!!

I believe the one-way transfers are $25/person.

Why not just rent a car at the port & drop it off at MCO?
Can rent a car for around $40.

This is what we typically do. i know it would be cheaper to rent a car from the pier to the airport, but after getting off the ship, i prefer to relax and sit back and not hassle with hoping to quickly be able to catch a shuttle to the rental place, and wait in line and so on. We always have a rental car before, but enjoy not messing with one the morning we debark.
