I am hoping to buy some pins to take with us on our next trip for the kids to trade. Has anyone used e-bay for this and/or recommend a good supplier.?

I don't really want to end up with a whole load of fakes.

My DW has bought a lot of pins from ebay lately - more for her own collection than for trading, but the lady she buys them from is in the US and there has never been any probs.
I can PS her details if you would like.

We have bought 2 lots from this seller, found him of Ebay and had them delivered to Hotel near Disneyland Cali then 2nd lot to home.
Does free worldwide shipping but we got hit by customs when delivered to UK, he lives near WDW so don't know if he would let anyone collect but will deliver to hotels.

I have had lots of emails from him this year with the offer bellow but just now can't see it on his site, not sure if he will offer it agaain.

Special 50 pin Disney Trading Lot just $79.95 WITH FREE SHIPPING (our normal 50 lots are usually $125!) - Now until Sunday midnight only, or earlier if these sell out. These lots each have at least 25 different Disney pins (max. 2 of a kind) that we are carrying too many of - They are perfect for trading around the Disney parks - or maybe one to keep one to trade if you like some of them that much!! These latest lots have many new / different pins in them compared to last time's sale too, as we complete our stocktake.

We also bought a lot of 50, may have been from the same trader but not totally sure. We did get caught with some heavy customs charges, £12 on 50 pins. Will do it again this year but we will also have delivered to hotel in WDW. Pins were very good, all genuine and in good condition.

We do pin trading when we go out there and tend to buy the ones we needed to complete the set off of various people on Ebay when we return home, most are pretty honest, sometimes you can tell by the picture that their not right. We use dzny-pins-uk on Ebay and never had a problem with the pins we received.
Small tip for you if you dont already know, buy DLRP pins over here off Ebay, the traders down downtown love them and are quite enthusiastic at trading with you as they dont get many DLRP pins in Florida, always good for leverage on a pin you really want!! ;) (that tip was courtesy of a cast manager we traded with last year)

I've bought from mousepinsonline before and had him send them directly to my hotel, worked great and definitely no fakes :thumbsup2

That is a good tip.
I am also interested to see how the UK only pins are received by the traders. We have been buying them specifically for trading so hope they are 'desirable'

can you trade DLRP pins? i thought it was only US pins?

You can trade any disney pin with any disney pin usually. There are a few exceptions like LE for LE etc, but DLRP pins are welcome in the US parks and vice versa.

I too have stocked up on some UK pins to take in the summer, including some of the UK LE ones.

another vote for pinfinder been buying from them for the last few years. Also just a heads up that the disney stores are now pin trading in the UK, found out when my DD went in to spend her pocket money last week, couldn't believe it there'll be no escape now.

I think it'd be 'safer' to take over some of the UK pins which have recently been released for sale. These can be bought either in-store or on-line.

That way, you could get your children some of the £3 core pins for basic trading and maybe some LE ones for if they see any of those they'd wish to trade.

My Dad has bought some core UK pins for our trip next year then we have some to begin trading with. Nearer the time, I'm going to get a couple of LE ones for trading over there too, I'm hoping I can trade them ones for some good and different US pins over there :thumbsup2

Then again, I don't mind Ebay at all, I've bought off there myself, but I'd just make sure you watch the sellers ratings and feedback from others before buying.

sorry, i'm still confused, can you trade DLRP pins in the parks with CMs?

Yeah, you can trade DLRP pins over in WDW and vice versa. As long as the 'C' Disney is on the reverse then there shouldn't be a problem with trading.

Well, I've never had any problems previously? :confused3

Here is the offical Disney Pin Trading Guidelines.

You can trade any acceptable pin for any pin on a CM's lanyard. They can not refuse a trade.

The only people who can specify what pins they want to trade are other pin traders not Disney CMs.

:goodvibes

Like I said above this is permissable. I have traded DLRP pins in both WDW and Disneyland and traded WDW and Disneyland pins in DLRP. I have never had any problems, a few times the US CM's have asked about where the pins were from and I explained which resulted in quite a nice conversation about DLRP.

Couldn't pay £3 for a pin unless it was something special, I am too tight:rotfl2:. We have 500-600 pins in collection, would have cost me a fortune at £3. Ones we bought from Pinfinder worked out at about £1.25 each(bought at $2/£1), thats enough for trading for me.

We have been buying LE UK ones as last time we were there DW saw quite a few Tigger ones at the traders stands that are really hard to get normally - even on ebay.
When we asked about trading it was simple enough, go into the store and buy a LE one that the trader wanted - although sometimes they wanted 2 in exchange for 1 depending on how rare the Tigger pin in question was. We are hoping that having UK ones will make it easier, and probably even a bit more fun for us.

thanks for all the info, the only trouble is that when i buy pins the kids don't want to trade them, so hopefully if I get a bulk lot there will be some that they will be willing to trade.

I might buy some uk ones for trading but will defo get a bulk lot from usa:thumbsup2

Oh how annoying! We wanted to order from them, but we are not going until September, and not sure I want to pay the customs charges *** I've no idea how much they might put on top.
