In preparation for our trip in February, I am looking for easy ideas for Disney themed parties, specifically food ideas (snacks or desserts would be fine, it doesn't need to be a full-fledged meal), to go along with Disney animated movies. DH already thought of spaghetti for Lady & The Tramp.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just got a book at the Disney Store that has crafts and recipes, such as meringue (sp) hats for the 7 dwarfs, wands for Cinderella, cute teacup cupcakes for Beauty and the Beast. There was also a smaller book of just the recipes out a while ago. Might be worth looking for. The book was only $12.95.

Sounds like fun!!! Hope you get some good ideas!

Michael's craft store has a very cute and easy kit to make Mickey cookies. It comes with the frosting and candy pieces for the face. I just bought it for our 30 day out party!

I am making these for my niece's birthday this weekend so I will post a photo later.
I went to a cake decorating store and bought Wafer Paper. It is also called Rice Paper. It is an edible thin "paper" that you can decorate and place on cakes, cupcakes or cookies.
I bought a Princess coloring book and I am tracing the princess's heads on the wafer paper with a food color pen I bought at the cake decorating store.
You can either color them in with paste food colors mixed with clear piping gel (also available at the cake supply store) or color them in with non toxic magic markers. They do sell food color magic markers at the cake store but they only have the primary colors and they are too hard to mix.
I know markers???? But I bought a new set and they will only be used with my wafer paper. I did this many years ago for my 26 year old's birthday and all the kids loved the cupcakes with their favorite He man character on it. If you make sure they are NON-TOXIC markers you will be safe, markers are only food coloring in a pen.
I then use a small cake spatula to spread the piping gel over the wafer paper after applying it to the cake. This gives the design a really nice shine.
I will submit pictures when the cake and cupcakes are done. Peggie
