Disney tape ruined!!

Well my family has been going to Disney for years. Up until I was six or seven, we did not have a video recorder. After we got one, we only had about three trips recorded until our recorder broke. Well I decided to get them out and watch them tonight and the best one is broke. Somehow it cracked and now when you put it in the VCR it plays for five seconds and then quits. Out of every tape we have why did it have to be that one?? I'm just kind of sad about it. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix it?? Sorry about the long post. I just figured I would tell the people who I knew would understand.

Sorry about that, you may want to try looking up digital restoration type places in the phone book. I had a vhs tape that broke and it was able to be fixed. I think the way i found the guy was that he did video tape transfers onto CD but he was also able to do repairs he just didn't advertise that he did them. works fine now.
