Hi all,

As I've heard of numerous problems with payments on this forum lately I just thought I'd ask if Disney are usually pretty prompt in taking payment on the due date. The outstanding on our October holiday is due today but no sign of it going out yet.

I don't want to pay online now just incase it goes twice!! do you think I should just sit tight and wait for it to eventually go out or chase them up??

If there was a problem would they just contact me and not just cancel the booking??!! I know I'm probably worrying over nothing but I paid in one lump last time and this time as it was booked on the 40% offer I'd have no chance of rebooking!!

Thanks in advance

I would wait, its the weekend so the money might not show coming out of your account till Monday

i had a look at mine, as mine due either today or tomorro - online it shows as nothing outstanding, so guess will keep a check on account - doesnt it take a couple of days to show as taken?? maybe wait til wednesday??

so hard knowing what to do....

It can take up to 7 days for a payment to Disney to show on your credit/debit card balance.

Yeah I figured it would take a few days to show off my bank balance as it did last time but on my booking on disney site it still shows the balance due and it hasn't changed to zero yet. Think I'll wait til Tuesday or Wednesday and then chase them up! Fingers crossed if there was a problem they'd contact me and not just cancel it!! Really don't want to have to chase them! my account has a tendancy to authorise things twice as it is so I'm all too aware or the pain in the bum it causes! lol

my balance was due to be taken on 4th august- we went away on 7th, it hadnt gone but wasn't too worried as had read how unreliable disney were on exact date of taking payemnt, believing it would go whilst we were away.
Came back yesterday- to letter from disney, saying no payment made and holiday would be cancelled within 7 dayes of the payment due date!! i called immediatly- apparently it was never set to be taken by direct debit!! i paid over the phone.

so dont leave it too long!

Eeeek!! Thanks for that, I'll give them a ring tomorrow but not too worried knowing that they sent you a letter first at least and didn't just cancel it!! :)

Thanks!

if you are worried i would give them a ring but i wouldn't let that online thing worry me. my trips always say paid in full even when i haven't paid a penny

thanks sonya - now IM worried, as thats what mine says lol..... gonna have to go check, arent it??

Don't worry too much yet, mine was due on 6th Aug but i checked my credit card online each day and it didn't show up until the 13th although the date on the credit card statement is the 7th.

On one of my previous holidays my credit card stopped the payment thinking it may be a fraud but disney phoned me and so i was able to sort it out.

Disney have made me broke!!!!

They have taken my payment twice!!!! 700 flamin' quid!!!! From my current account.

I have no money...grrrrrr :scared1::sad2::scared1:

Was gonna' make a new thread but this one is pretty much the same as my situation. Payment was supposed to be taken out on Friday and it's now Wednesday with no sign of the money being taken out yet, and that mydisneyland thing to check your bookings on the website is useless. Don't know whether to jsut leave it for a few more days, I don't want them to take it out twice :scared1: that would criple my finances!

As an update for you this is what happened with mine... It never went out automatically. I waited about 2 weeks in the end! (although didn't really mean to leave it that long so wouldn't advise it!!)

As it was so overdue I figured it wasn't going to go and attempted to pay online so £429. It declined. My bank had refused it.

I rang Disney and paid £229 on another card which went though fine and tried to do the £200 remainder on the card I'd tried to use online. This then declined as the £429 was still blocked on my card!

I called the card provider (Halifax) who said to try the £200 again and it'll authorise which I did and it did.

However, the remainding £229 blocked on the Halifax card was still blocked and it took almost 2 WEEKS!! to drop back onto my account. Luckily it was money I didn't need immediately so wasn't an issue but whatever you do don't try to pay it off in one go!!

Probably best idea is to phone your bank first and let them know about the payment to an off shore company and the amount in advance and once that's done call Disney.

Oh and even once the payments authorised they didn't actually come off my balance for over a week. The Lloyds one that authorised first actually unblocked before it was taken (took so long!!) so be very careful and make sure you know exactly what you should have in there.

Hope that makes sense and helps!! :thumbsup2

ETA... My payment was due 14 August. Think I tried to pay it and then called on the 26th and the amounts came out fri (lloyds) and monday of this week (HFX) so that goes to show how long it takes! Their payment system really isn't great! lol

hello rowan

mine was due sat and they havn't taken it yet. 4 weeks today for you and 8 weeks for me :cool1::yay::cheer2:

God this thread doesn't exactly fill me with much confidence :scared1:

My final payment is due to be taken on the 7th of November, I hope i don't have the same problems.

After reading this thread and one or two others we decided to not leave it to Disney, our final payment is due on the 22nd but we decided to call and pay it now, we asked them to take our card details off the system so they don;t take the payment again and they did.

I did this too, phoned and paid a week early. The lady at Disney confirmed that the "future payment request" was cancelled

Yippeeeee!!! :yay::cheer2::yay::cheer2:

I'd give Disney a ring and just check and if they haven't done it pay it chick. Just phone your bank first though. It might be that they have authorised it though, just takes forever to come out so best to check!

See you later for the usual Wednesday afternoon Disney goss?!! :rotfl:

Aw don't let it worry you too much but I would just follow the advise of previous posters and pay up and get them to take your cc details off the system.

At least it helps that you're aware of the problems and how to avoid them. That helped me a little even though they happened as I was half expecting it!!

We had so many problems this time around. Initially paid the deposit, then decided to pay off a massive chunk. They took the WHOLE payment out, which wiped out my friends account. So she phoned them, (it was three months before the final payment was due!) and they refunded her the payment - and the euro rate had changed so she was £18 short in sterling!

Poor thing was crying as she had to phone again, this time a very nice CM apologised and booked us (all 11 of us) into cafe Mickey for a charactor breakfast to say sorry (and refunded the £18). We took that card off of the planed final payment then phoned on the due date to pay the rest. then fun and games again!

I had the remainder taken out of my account in holding, then I had my wages go in, then the payment reappeared in my account, before finally going again a week later, I got confused and annoyed to say the least (with my bank) and phoned Disney to check they had it (which they did so phew!). Because of all this and with half of our party being really sick last trip, Disney have added an extra "touch" to the hotel (Sequoia Montana room) so I can't wait to see what the kids get!

Next time though, I am booking through my T.A (ME!) because I have never known a season like this with all the payment errors!
