I may have to go to Burbank Ca. If I do, I will be getting a tour of the Disney studio. Can anyone tell me what it is like?
We went there in '96. At that time if you worked for the
Disney Store you could get yourself and one other person in to the Studios.
Once you were in, there was (is) no formal tour. We were allowed to wander around on our own. We took pics at the corner of Mickey Ave and Dopey Drive
We went into the Roy O. Disney building to check out the archives. We met Dave Smith, who is in charge of the archives. He could not have been nicer. He showed us around and told us all kinds of stories about the things that were displayed. We were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted.
We found the prop storage building and had a ball checking out all of the things in there. It was fun to see if we could guess what TV or movie we had seen stuff in.
We looked over the commisary and the Studio Store. We purchased a copy of the book Disney A to Z. In line behind Richard Karn of Home Improvement. Then took the book and had Dave Smith autograph it.
I have no idea what you will be able to do and see now. But we had a great time. Just to know the history of where you were. I stood there, looking around, knowing THIS is truely where Walt's dreams were created. It just gave me chills
