Disney Store Mask Sizes

My order hasn’t shipped yet, so I am considering cancelling it with all the issues people are having. The ones people picked up in Disney Springs seem to be ok? Are they improving them as time goes on or are the youtubers just being nice?

I have been wondering the same thing. I do know that if you order masks today, there are different sizing recommendations than there were at first.

Maybe the people buying them at the DS or the Disney stores have the benefit of seeing the actual masks to aid with sizing?

I was about to post something simliar. I tried to stretch the ear loops on one of mine and the stitching broke and the whole mask is literally falling apart.

Well, I washed my masks before wearing and one literally did fall apart in the wash. The entire front fabric panel came detached. I guess now I have a filter pocket. (I don't sew)

Hemming tape (iron on -- no sewing needed!) works very well (and is great for Halloween costumes, too): HeatnBond Hem Iron-On Adhesive, Super Weight, 3/4 Inch x 8 Yards.

People buying the masks at DTD are being told that the S and M sizes are for kids and the L is for adults. So far, there are no XL masks at WOD yet. But people who bought the L masks are still saying that they do run small.

Thanks! I have some double sided tape for fabric so I used that, but I know it won't stay on after washing. Is this other stuff permanent?

People buying the masks at DTD are being told that the S and M sizes are for kids and the L is for adults. So far, there are no XL masks at WOD yet. But people who bought the L masks are still saying that they do run small.

Yeah, I have a very small face/head and the L fits my FACE well, but the ear loops start to hurt after awhile. I like the feel of these masks but the ear elastics are just too thick and heavy.

I have the Pixar masks. I ordered L and they fit, but the four masks are all slightly different dimensions, and one of them is a bit on the small side and one shrunk a little after washing it (by hand in cold water). The tags, btw, pull out really easily. I like the masks but would not be thrilled to be wearing one in the Orlando summer.

Yes, the the hemming tape is permanent, when washed normally. I don't know what happens when you really scrub it hard, but regular washing and drying seems to be fine.

I sent an email to ShopDisney to express my frustrations/disappointment in the sizing of the small masks and how they didn't fit my 3 year old. 5-7 days later, they responded to me and issued me a $25 credit/e-gift card. I had already reordered in a medium so I'll use the credit for something else. From a facebook group, I was able to trade my small masks for medium with a nice woman in Iowa who couldn't use her mediums with her son who has a trach. The mediums fit both my 3 year old and 8 year old.

We also ordered large ones. Like others have said, we also found that the red minnie mask was the smallest. The rest fit both myself and my mom well.

Just curious. Did you receive a generic response back from Disney at first? I tried sending them an email sharing my frustrations with the sizing and the next day I got a generic response the next day about returns etc.

Did you just send it to guest services at ShopDisney? I got a very different response. Here is what they sent me back.

I just received my masks today. I pre-ordered them the week they came out. I was HOPING it took so long because they were correcting the terrible sizing issues. No such luck. I used ShopDisney’s measurements in ordering my masks. According to their measurement chart, I fall into the medium size category. That sounded correct to me as I have a small face. These masks are AWFUL! They are ridiculously small. There is NO WAY they have been made according to that chart. I’ll be calling for a refund tomorrow.

Definitely large for any adult. I have a small face and the masks can feel snug. I bought mine last week in the Magic Kingdom. They were 4 for $20

I sent an email but got a generic response back saying returns are easy click here for our policy. I called and was on hold for a little over an hour. When I finally got someone they said they could refund me or email me an e-gift card. I chose the gift card, it was 30.00. I may order the extra large size or just use it for something else. I was not impressed with the masks, all four were a different size and one of them had one ear loop twice as big as the other.

Calling Shop Disney customer service is getting better -- wait times are shorter now. I called last night around 7 pm PT and was on hold for about 10 minutes or so. A very cheerful CM resolved my problem quickly.

Your situation emailing them is very similar to my situation that I wrote about a few posts above. I guess I should call them.
