...But REALLY! Who do you think you're kidding?
I'm sorry, I guess I should stop reading the post's on this thread that I originally posted. But it goes back to one of my original replies. DS Castmembers seem to be either in denial or to use a phrase that their own upper management uses against them, "full of excuses."
Every reply that I read from them is just another excuse. "Christmas wiped us out" "The new product is coming"
"We have a lot of new adult sleepwear" "We have a new denim jacket" More of the same crap.
But to say that a 20% off sale is a perk to reward frequent guests is going a bit overboard. Companies don't have sales to reward their customers. First they would need to have a heart, and we all know that Bob Bell, Peter Whitford and others under the orders of Ei$ner had the heart of
Disney Store surgically removed awhile back.
There are lots of reasons for having sales. And believe me, they are all about $ale$. It's about inventory, it's about moving product and making room for the next line. Bottom line...it's about the BOTTOM LINE. In all my years of retail management and corporate marketing, I have never heard of a sale intended to reward customers. I have never created such a sale for any of my stores. This includes my time with DS.
While I agree that your stores may not be clearing out for the big closure yet, you will be soon. If and when Disney decides to close the DS chain, I expect a full liquidation of merchandise, and I expect it to last for months, like when Warner Bros. closed.
I have a great idea for Disney Store's next sale. Maybe they can call it "The Sh_ _ we can't get rid of sale". That should move some stuff out. JMHO
