Disney Store Complaint

I agree!! I want to stop in but what for?? I saw the most adorable sweatshirt on someone at the mall, it had Tinkerbell on the front and wings on the back. Made me long for the days.... I also like the subtle icons!!

DS and older daughter used to love POOH but dislike the new Book of Pooh characters they say they look funny. :(

It's not even a lack of adult clothing...it's ANY clothing. I went to TDS at the Mall of America, as well as the one in a local larger mall, to find some clothing for a "baby"....and nada, zilch, none! Unless I wanted to purchase a halloween costume (as one poster already mentioned). Makes me wonder what nonsense they will literally fill the stores with AFTER Halloween.

SeaSpray So I assume you don't consider Snow White, The Little Mermaid, and the other story characters Disney either. They weren't created by Disney anymore than Winnie the Pooh was.
I don't go into the Disney Store much anymore except to check out pins. Nothing there for me with no children. I love Pooh, Mickey & Minnie and Stitch. I'd like to see descrete clothes with all of these. I enjoy wearing Disney stuff to work and my students love to see it.
One big want. Disney Polos in solid colours with small, decrete embroidered characters over the pocket. Can't be big enough to distract from my interpreting.

That's correct, I don't consider them "Disney". Disney didn't make up the fairy tales or the princesses. I'm not implying that I don't enjoy Pooh or the Princesses, but as far as logo merchandise goes, I prefer the Disney originals :)

I have to agree :( I use to shop there at least once a week and now I will also walk right by the store in the mall. I miss the jewelry, adult clothes and collectables. I did find the greatest necklace and earring set at the Orlando airport store (which by the way, is not ran by Disney, they told me this last week when I tried to use my Disney Club card discount).

I do shop the catalog but it just is not the same :( But, I am saving money!

I used to make a trip to TDS once a week to see what was new, but now I don't go out of my way for it anymore - haven't for almost a year now - when I saw it turning into a toy store. Just a thought, but could it be that the Disney powers-to-be are trying to entice the public back to the parks which was the main source of Disney purchased items. Like I said - just a thought.

Just remember, if you complain to store CMs, they will tell you that adult clothing and all the other stuff is available through their catalog and on line (they might even direct you to an in-store computer). As if that makes up for it.

Do you really think the store CM's have anything to do with the product line being offered?

I'm sure they are just as unhappy as you are...after all they have to listen to the complaints.

As far as them telling you to order through the catalogue--what would you like them to say or do?

You can complain to TDS CMs until you're blue in the face but you're complaining to the wrong people. We hear about our lack of an adult line constantly. Homebase does NOT listen to CMs no matter what we say.

I don' t have any adult merchandise to pull out of my butt. Telling you that adult merchandise is in the catalog and online is the only answer I have for you unless I give you the number for Homebase so you can complain there.

BTW, I don't know about the other stores, but our sales are up 25% over last year. I guess some people like all that princess stuff. Me, I find I save a lot more money.

Well said!

I think some guests are very happy when theyreally desire an item, you hand them a catalog, tell them it has free shipping and it would be the same cost to them as if it were in the store, and they seem really relieved that they have an option to get that item that has been eluding them, and will make little Johnny or even Grandma real happy to receive it. Plus you can have it shipped right to someone else at no extra charge.

I don't waste my time anymore in the stores. No offense to the CMs on this board that work there, as I understand you have no control over what is offered. It's a bunchg of cheap plastic stuff, none of which holds any interest for me.

I'm amazed that sales are up. We refer to the Disney Store as the "pink" store now because it seems to be mostly Princess stuff especially in the front. Of course now there's tons of costumes mostly the heavy wooly kind. I think they're cute but awfully impractical for Texas.

I wish that us grownups could at least have a little corner of the store with a few collectibles and clothing items. Ours only have a few sweatshirts, mugs and snowglobes. :(

Your local Wal-Mart has more Disney items for sale than the Disney Stores....cheaper too!

I have to be honest - I never used to find anything I wanted in there outside of a travel mug or a DVD once in a while. That is, until my wife and I had a daughter two weeks ago. I went into TDS the other day, and it was like a whole new store to me! I was laughing, realizing that everything seemed geared toward a dad who wants to buy something pink or princess-y for his daughter. It worked for me!

I complained to the CM the store and he told me there would probably be adult merchandise "after Halloween for holiday gift-giving." I looked at the many costumes. $35.00, NOT including the shoes, feather boas (I must have missed the movies where the princesses wore these!), tiaras and wands. It made me REALLY glad my DD is 14 and too big to beg for that overpriced stuff.

I am amazed at how much Disney misses the boat in so many areas and continues to thrive. TDS situation is a real disgrace, if you ask me. They have cut off so much of their audience. How could they not realize this??? And the catalogue just doesn't cut it for me. I like to try things on. And use CASH.

I really don't like the mall, anyhow. And TDS used to be the only reason DD could drag me there. How many antenna balls can I buy? It's the only interesting thing in the store anymore!

I wish we could send this entire thread to someone who really might care and/or listen. Who might that be???

Sorry for the rant....but my Disney "fix" at TDS is sorely missed!

Congratulations ChefBilly!

You think it can't get worse? We went to the Disney Store in Frankfurt (Germany) to buy me a birthday present and it had GONE!!! Vanished, disappeared!!! So I'm sorry you can't get what you want (I'd be just as angry) but I'm marooned in a Disney-free zone...

:( :( :(

I have had lots of trouble finding infant clothes fore DGD. Even the catalog is void.

Miss the old Disney strore, too.

Are the number of items sold up or just gross sales? By having more expense items for sale, you can boost your sales with decreasing customer counts.
