Disney Store closed!!!!

Yesterday the two Disney stores in Puerto Rico closed.The employees were reunited yesterday and the district manager of th stores gave them the sad news.What I can believe is all this was in one day!!!I am crazy......about this. Does anybody knows about any other store with the same bad luck?

It has been happening all across the States for about the last year or so. Either the stores close or they are restocked with mainly childrens clothes and toys.

Its been very sad to see the downfall of the Disney Stores. Visiting one used to be the highlight of my week. But the company ran the stores into the ground. They opened one in every mall so they weren't special anymore. Then they cut the staffing so you could never get a CM to help you and the lines at the registers were 10 deep. Finally, they eliminated all the collectible items from store stock so there was no longer any reason to even go into a Disney Store. All the other stuff - clothes, toys, housewares - could be bought at Target or Wal-Mart for less money. The last straw was the remodeling of stores. I happen to live near one of the first 2 stores to be made over - Cherry Hill Mall in NJ. The new design was a total failure with everyone I spoke to, including the CM's. They took away all the theming, all the character models, the window displays, the showcases, etc. It now looks like every other store in the mall. No wonder business dropped off so dramatically. I sincerely hope they can turn things around, close a lot of the stores and focus their attention and money on the remaining stores to return them to their past glory.

Disney did the store over in Emerald Square Mall recently... it seems like it's half the size of the original. And as Tink2W previously posted, it's full of children's clothes and toys... Not much for adults any more. Shame, but I guess they feel this is the way to go. Plus they put the register's all the way in the back of the store... I wonder how much product walks out the door????

We were supposed to have a Character Corner go into Wrentham Village Outlets, but doesn't look like that is going to happen any time soon. It's totally off the list of "coming soon" stores!!

Looks like they're cutting back all over the place.
