Disney Store 2014 Merchandise

Am I correct in thinking that the Disney Store discounts most of its year dated merchandise in July or August?

I seem to think I saw this last year and that I should wait to buy until later summer for that reason (for our Fall trip).

Can anyone verify?

I do not think so. Maybe a few of their less popular items but the majority have been left at full price.

DD and I were there in January and saw some 2013 merchandise at full price, which surprised me. I guess they thought guests who stayed December 2013 into January 2014 would buy the merchandise.

Today I was shopping at our local Disney store and found 2013 Disney magnets finally marked down enough to be a good deal. We went there in 2013, so of course I got one. I've seen plenty of dated "last-year" items as well as what I consider to be "old" merchandise that was full price or with just a very small discount. Such as, a bunch of Hannah Montana shirts - really, who is going to buy those at nearly full price (or at all! LOL!). So, I don't really see a pattern, I just visit often to see if what I'm looking for is on sale.

BTW - in Disney stores this weekend is an "extra" 25% off the entire store, including clearance. Got my toddler an awesome Planes shirt for $4.50 for our upcoming trip.

Thanks for the info - I just bought coordinating tee shirts for our fall trip with this weekend's online sale - (-and Cars sunglasses for my little guy!) Maybe it was a similar sale around the 4th I was thinking of? I will be watching close - want to get all my kids a 2014 autograph book!

most Disney stores do not carry year merchandise.

That said, they do have Twice Upon a Year Sale, that happens three times.. Jan and July, then there are sporadic seasonal sales.

remember a Disney visa is automatic 20% when you spend $50 or more. + you get Disney Dollars back,

I will have $500 disney dollars for my up coming trip.
