how much does everyone usually spend on buying souviners,,,,,what are your favorite treats to bring home,,,,,and where do you get them,,,,or how about treats there that are a much have,,,,,

I try to limit the actual souviners and take a lot of pictures. I have a scrapbook just for Disney trips that I enjoy adding to each time.

I love my souvineers. Must haves for me are
1- a Christmas ornament-$10- $45 price range.
2-one or 2 pictures- ride or park. I budget $40 so I can buy the frame also.
3- everyone gets one new t-shirt-$100
4-pins-$30

Treat must haves
1- mickey ice-cream
2-dole whip
3- margarita in Mexico

My favorite souviners have been coffee mugs & beach towels. Coffee mugs remind me each morning of great times at WDW & beach towels are something that we always need more of & kids never outgrow. I also like buying keychain that holds photos & frames.

MIne is the Potato head
It's as much fun stuffing the box to make sure you get all those special Disney pieces
$20
Have a disney nite

I like to get ornamenents. And I like womenn's Disney underwear, too. They're cute. lol:p

I like the ride photos, pins and refrigerator magnets. All of them are easy to pack and relatively inexpensive.

My kids (2 dds 5 and 7, and ds 4) get Disney dollars for CHristmas, Easter, Valentine's day, losing a tooth etc. from our whole family. They save it to spend on souveniers that THEY want. We'll be back in July and they each have over $100 already.

We buy the refillable mugs and each child gets to pick a CHristmas ornament at Disney.

I don't count snacks (Mickey bars and such) that some people do when their children have their own money.

THis way the kids pick what they want and DH and I don't tell them not to waste their money on a piece of junk, which is what used to happen when we were paying. This makes them happy.

The souveniers that really cost money are the ones we buy for the older kids (19-28) who don't come with us. We feel guilty (even though they don't want to come) so we overspend every year.

I always spend way too much on souveniers.

This time when I go, I am strictly limiting myself to

1. Picture frame
2. Polo-type shirt (so I can wear it to the office)
3. Pal Mickey
4. Christmas ornament

and I might let my fiancee buy something for our new house.

LMAO I had to comment here too! Now I'll add what I always buy too....

* The sipper mug from the resort I'm staying at
* The Mickey translucent straws (that they don't sell anymore or if they do you need to search them out and find them)
* A pin for trading

For treats

* Rum runners from the Rock n Roll Beach Club
* Mickey Waffles
* Tye Dye cheesecake at POP (it's just so cool!!)
* Mickey Ice Cream

I always get an ornament(s). Plus a coffee cup and plate. They are wonderful for that special cookie and coffee treat. I ended up with a shirt this trip. Plus one of my favorite things is the Mickey Ice cube tray. I asked the lady behind the counter if it actually works....nothing would be more sightly than to just get mickey's head...and his ears still be stuck in the tray. This is where a nice couple behind me piped up and BOTH said....it works great! It's just an added bonus when having a drink.

I'm guilty of always bringing an extra suitcase for all the goodies ... but I didn't fill it up this trip!

I buy essentially no souveniers. I don't need more "stuff" in my life. Instead, I enjoy the experience of going, and I enjoy the pictures I take.

Our favorite souvenier is a dated photo album. A few times a year we pull out all the albums and we compare pictures to see how the kids and things have changed. Very nice that they are dated as it is so easy.

The mistake we made a few times is to buy the meduim size album. We usually take more pictures than fit in there so now we buy the large one.

Depends on my money situation at the time. My trip to Disneyland, I spent about $125 on stuff. It was unbelievably cold, so I bought 2 hats and a sweatshirt for about $72, a Mickey bottle opener for $7, souviner book $9, antenna topper $3 (LOVE those), fridge magnet $5, picture frame $20, pin $8 and I can't remember anything else right at the moment.

I always buy a chocolate chip cookie at the bakery on Main Street. I bought a frozen chocolate covered banana at California Adventure that was good.

My last visit
Jan 2000
$2300, which at the exchange rate at the time worked out to around $3400 Canadian.

You won't have any trouble finding stores in or out of the parks and at Downtown Disney. :Pinkbounc
What I notice is that "souvenir" costs soar when you're buying for crowds of people back home. I think people forget that sending a postcard can be enough! :earboy2:
Hope this list helps assimilate a potential spending plan for yourself: :earseek:
2-3 polo shirts ($30-$85 ea.) - favorite
1 new Disney watch ($30-130) - favorite
1 sweatshirt ($30-$54) - favorite
10 disney pins ($6.50 ea.)
10 postcards ($.50 ea.)
1 mug ($8.95-12.99)
1 Scrapbook ($24.99)
1 Photo Frame ($9.99-$24.99)
1 T-shirt ($17.99-24.99)
1 Pal Mickey ($60 - worth it if you're a Disney fanatic IMHO and don't mind lugging it around) :goodvibes
1 hat ($8.99-29.99)
1 umbrella ($12.99+) - favorite :umbrella:
1 robe ($34.99+)
Nightwear ($24.99+) - favorite
Keychain ($3.95+)
1 notepad ($6.95) - favorite
1 tree ornament ($2.99+)
Stuffed disney characters/animal ($6.95small+)
Posters ($9.99+)
1 snoglobe ($19.99+)
1 Disney Dollar ($1 - you can purchase $5, $10, etc. it's $1 to $1) :goodvibes
1 Pressed Penny ($.51 - y. must provide that one cent and pressed quarters are a little more).
1 Autograph book (I don't remember price, Anyone else remember?)
1 Pen (and how much are those pens large enough for characters to sign?)

Don't forget your picture costs for developing.
Hope this gave you some ideas
P.S. And no we don't buy all this in one trip

Mr. Potato Head gets my "BEST" vote. We had so much fun filling the box at Once Upon a Toy at DTD. It also gave my daughter a special toy to play with at the resort while I showered, dressed, etc. I also love my Mickey Waffle Maker. We enjoy buying pins. We collect the ones from our resorts and other special events that we attend on our trip. I also like buying a large dated photo album for all the special memories.

A nice one time souvenier is to get your portrait drawn by an artist at the Magic Kingdom around the Liberty Square area.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon to WDW back in 1994 and they did a profile portrait of both of us on one page. In 2004, we brought our 5 year old and got a portrait done of him to add to the wall next to our portrait.

We sat for the portraits while waiting for the parade to pass......

speed :teleport:
