Disney-Sony Studios?

The Disney website still refers to the theme park as Disny-MGM Studios even though I keep hearing they want to drop the MGM name off.

I don't think it's so much that they "Want" to drop it, just that they have a liscence on the name and therefore they are not keen on making it key to the identity of the park

This was happening as early as 1999 when the 10th anniversary of the park was nearing... I was working there then and saw a lot of "Walt Disney Studios" merchandise, and was told the reason was they would be phasing out the MGM name when the liscence was up- also we were told as CM's to not refer to the park as "MGM" if it was to be referred to in shorthand, we had to call it "the studios" - they said they didn't want to be confused with other "un-Disney" operations, such as MGM Grand Casino
