Disney Skyliner Refurb 2025

Well, Topolino's is down from 1/12-1/25 and still no skyliner announcement. Interesting.
I am super bummed about this. We’re going with friends who have never been to Topolino’s and it was one of the reasons (beyond the Skyliner) we were staying at Riviera.

Something has to be up, or Disney is just trying to possibly prevent cancellations going forward? Perhaps this is something they have experienced in the last couple years with the refurb.

I wonder if their experience in past years indicated that they could stretch out the time between overhauls.

They must have inspected the skyliner after Hurricane Milton, maybe they determined it didn't need January maintenance?

Or since the skyliner is 5 years old now maybe it's "out of warranty" and they are going to service it differently?

Regardless, it seems strange that they would just leave it up to speculation. January is very close!

Prob preventing Cancellations/ rescheduling from the skyliner resorts.

We'll probably hear 30 days before about the refurbishment.
It's def something they're keeping hush hush for now.

Maybe we'll even get a surprise notice when we're on vacation there days in advance

I left Pop today. I spoke with a couple skyliner employees ant the International Gateway station and they seem pretty positive it WILL happen… but don’t know when they are announcing the actual dates. I mentioned we’ve reached the ADR for the historical closure dates and they said don’t worry, all 3 lines shouldn’t be closed at once. Not sure what they mean by that. Not sure if they were speculating either. But they say it’s happening and they haven’t figured out the dates yet.

I feel like routine yearly maintenence would still be necessary. This is a week plus closure, and as far as i know it didn't close after the hurricane .

This is strange that they would purposely do this, because they normally like to announce refurbishments far in advance to avoid making guests mad. This is so uncharacteristic. I’m sure Dopplemayr is the one making this decision because I can’t see Disney doing it on purpose.

Aren't the guests already mad about lightning lane multi pass pricing?
😆 🤣

I'll be happy if at least part of the line is running as I haven't been in a looonnng time so it'll be new for me! That being said I won't be relying on it for transport which is quite different than just out for a ride. I had wanted to add on a few days at Pop and this was making a difference for sure.

Interesting - they have done that in the past (only close one line at a time), but not in recent years. I found this for the January 2021 refurbishment:

Sunday, January 24th, 2021: The Disney Skyliner line to/from Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be closed. The Disney Skyliner will still run to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Tuesday, January 26th, 2021: The Disney Skyliner route to/from Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be closed.

Thursday, January 28th, 2021: The Skyliner route to/from EPCOT’s International Gateway will be closed

I’m really not sure if they knew what they were telling me. I specifically mentioned staying at Pop and dining at Riviera. They said ‘just walk to the riviera from the main hub’ Or take an internal bus.’ We shall see!!!

I've got 3 weeks till my 30 day mark for our trip, and I'm desperately hoping they will give us some news, soon.
I'd preemptively change -- I am holding a reservation at Poly - but it's more points to switch out, and while I do like Poly theming better, this trip was kind of planned around skyliner access, so I'd prefer to stay at Riviera. But if there's no skyliner, we will be moving, and I really wish we knew already! (Sorry, venting a little. I'm a worrier, and this has been eating me up impatiently waiting for news. I don't actually trust that no news means no refurbishment...)

Please, vent away, maybe Disney will eventually hear us😂

I'm not considering switching resorts anymore (limited options remain to switch to in my price range), but I am booking dining for my trip this weekend. We are at CBR and usually come back to the resort in the afternoon, so planning on taking the skyliner somewhere for dinner. I know it's easy enough to cancel a dining reservation, but I will be really frustrated if they announce a closure well after everyone has made their plans.

If it were me and this was causing worry and stress, I'd just go ahead and switch to a resort where it won't matter.
Why do that to yourself when there's an alternative.
