Disney Skyliner Refurb 2025

Wondering if there is any reason people think Disney has to announce this. Couldn't they just close it down on a day of their choosing and direct people to alternate transportation?
Disney upcharges for hotels along the Skyliner line. If the Skyliner is knowingly going to be shut down, people should be given ample notice so they can make an educated choice as to where to stay.

In my situation, we are going with grandkids in strollers. The Skyliner is so much easier than buses when you have babies who need to be removed and strollers folded up. We paid extra to be able to take the skyliner to simplify our vacation.

If we knew we would just be riding buses the whole time, we would have chosen to stay somewhere else.

Picking a nit here but there is no separate charge for the Skyliner. The price for the hotel is the price. It doesn't change according to the availability of specific modes of transportation.

But yes, it would be nice to let those who care about this know if the skyline is boing to be down for a while. If Disney knows, of course.

This. And to be fair, I remember Pop and AoA being higher than the All Stars even before the Skyliner. And CBR has been all over the place - again, even before the Skyliner.

Didn't CBR used to be in line with the pricing of the other moderates back in the day? CBR seems as if it has had the biggest increase in price with the moderates. I would say because of the value of the skyliner. Or, perhaps the other moderates just get more discounts now?

I've never seen a big pattern with the Mods. POFQ was usually the most expensive. Then CSR thanks to the Tower.

It seems like the others get more discounts than CBR now. To me personally.

IDK. I don't really look at Moderates since they offer no more extras than the Values.

It would be really inconvenient, especially for guests who booked ADRs at the skyliner resorts assuming they could use it to quickly and easily get to the restaurants. Navigating that without the skyliner takes multiple busses and a lot more time. It’s just something that they have always announced way in advance… it really would be uncharacteristic to drop the news a day or two before it would go down.

Concur.

There is also a chance it’s reached a point in its operational lifetime where Disney feels it’s safe to decrease its operational maintenance cycle. (I know, normally one increases maintenance with age, but Skyliner was brand spanking new so Disney may have gone more aggressive at the maintenance schedule than recommended.)

Late January is one of my favorite times to go, but I didn't book this coming year because of routine late January skyliner closures (and oddly busy parks this year). I wish they would give ample warning on this so people could book accordingly.

Any advice on how to score a room on sold out dates? Thanks all!
How do you know it is actually sold out for your dates? Are you checking for different ranges of days and are you including Friday and Saturday night?

It may actually require you to book multiple reservations and different room categories to cover you stay.
