Disney shuttle to LAX port

We want to finish up our plans for our July cruise and right now we are thinking about staying the night prior at the Grand California Hotel and taking the Disney shuttle to the port.

Does anyone know from the past cruise about what time the shuttle leaves for the port?

Also, I recall reading somewhere that a nice thing about the Disney shuttle is that once they take your bags you don't have to worry about them at the port...is this true too?

In 2005 I used this there, was where a number of Disneyland buses going from GCH, starting about 11.15 am, they took the luggage from your room at 8am and the next time you saw it was your stateroom.
