Disney sells some of its world

mmmmm very interesting!

Thanks

I suppose it isn't a huge area compared to the 27,000 acres that they have, but it's still not something I'm happy to see.
Walt bought huge tracts of land for a purpose. After all the development that went on around Disneyland, he didn't want to see WDW surrounded by tacky motels and 'strip' malls.
I don't think he'd approve of selling off even small parts of WDW.

I'm sort of with you on that, Kev. My initial reaction was to feel uneasy, but I figure Walt was a maverick and embraced innovation and change. Who's to know what he would think about it if he was still here. I'm guessing it wouldn't even be an issue - he'd be concerning himself with far more interesting projects. I'd even be willing to contemplate that WDW would be totally off his radar.

The land alongside Sherbeth Road looks very run-down und uncared for in places at the moment. A well planned development might be an improvement - hopefully.

I read a post by Feralpeg on the US community board about this, apparently she lives close to where this land is and reckons its going to be a luxury housing development, you could 'walk to WDw in ten minutes!' maybe another 'celebration' type community?

I hope so Carol I wouldnt want any tacky places or crappy hotels thier. Its WDW and really I feel they should of did something with it, other than selling it.
