Just venting. After being on the phone and the web for several days I finally found Cindrella's Royal Table availability online. Paid with my AmEx and informed my daughter that for her 21st birthday - we would be dining in he Castle!! Later today, I went to the website and looked up the park hours and found that MK closes at 7:00pm. How can that be??? We have 7:55 dinner reservations!! I called and was informed that I would have to have a hard ticket for the halloween party??!! Why did it not make that clear when I made the reservation???

I suppose that Disney assume if you are searching for a later ADR time that is during a hard-ticketed event, that you will know it is during a party and so would have a ticket for that event.

I can see your point though, they should inform people online that if an ADR availabilty is during a party, seperate tickets would be needed.

But if your eating at 7:55 an have to buy MNSSHP then you will miss some of the party & things going on. I wouldn't do this in my opinion.

I have no intention of going to the party. Never did - didn't even know it was that night. Cancelled reservation. Oh well.

To the poster above -- You know what they say about assuming....I was not searching for that time slot..or even for the castle....it was an alternative suggestion from the website..even more frustrating.

Just a thought
I would go to Cali Grill. The food is great. The atmosphere is awesome. The view of the world is the best.:thumbsup2

If you are in the park before 7pm, I strongly doubt a CM would kick you out since you have a reservation at CRT. They don't close and reopen the parks the way they used to. Wristbands are checked by CM's at rides and in some cases as you are walking around.

Although the party is a lot of fun the tickets are expensive and as the PP mentioned a 7:55pm dinner is not a good use of time. Personally I wouldn’t worry.

Ask for a window seat to get a great view. Have fun.

**hit reply before seeing op's update. I agree with the CA Grill as another option**

I know it seems misleading, but they do have at "Theme Park Admission is required" clause in their guest policies which takes the responsibility off of them.

I do agree with you, it would be nice if they had an extra blurb in there for special events like MNSSHP and other hard ticketed events.

My understanding is that you will be asked to leave the park at 7 PM, ADR or not. If you have an ADR that is before the party starts, like 6:30, they would let you finish your meal and then have you leave the park. But you can't be in the park for a reservation that starts after the party unless you have a ticket to the party.

There are many many posts here saying what a good job the CMs do at clearing out the park of non-party guests - there was one here just yesterday.

When you call on the phone, they tell you this quite clearly about the ADR times and parties, but apparently, they haven't figured out how to make the online system give you that same information. And they really should - have a pop up or something that tells you that.

I just read a few accounts that they check for wristbands for all reservations after 6pm, so if the OP had kept their reservation (looks like they canceled already), it's possible that they'd get turned away when they went to dinner.

Actually without a party ticket/wristband, CMs will start pointing you toward the exit at 7pm, you will not be allowed into the stores, restaurants, ride lines, it has even been reported that people were not allowed to use a restroom after the party started without a wristband(not sure I buy that one, but). The party is not the same as EMH, so people paying for it expect CMs to keep people not paying for it out after 7pm.

They will absolutely WILL kick you out, or ask you to buy a party ticket in order to stay. The will not check anyone in for a ressie after avout 6:30 without asking for your party tickets.

I was in Cosmic Rays last year right after 7:00, a cm was walking around checking every table for wristbands.

Nope. They wouldn't let her into the ADR without a wristband, but that doesn't matter because she wouldn't last til 7:55 in the park without one on anyways. :goodvibes

Wow, thanks for the clarification. It sounds like the policy enforcement has gotten much stricter than when we were there last year (for MVMCP not MNSSHP).

While I am sorry this mix up happened to the OP, I am glad to hear CM's are checking for wristbands and tickets.

I was there for the christmas party last year. Possibly due to rain, but maybe not, our wristbands were not checks. It was raining most of the night and my whole family had on light long sleeved sweaters with rain ponchos over them. Nobody could see our wristbands and we were never asked to show them. I almost intentionally kept mine covered just to see if I would be asked. Nope....

I also saw earlier today that due to a mix up with Animal Kingdom dining reservations, Disney was forced to extend park hours for 2 weeks. Apparently they were taking reservations for after park hours.

Good luck with your birthday dinner. Hopefully something good will open up for you.:wizard:

BTW, there's a thread on the theme parks board where someone said they were just told that they couldn't make an ADR later than 4:30 PM on a party night (by a dining CM). So like always, take that for what you will ... she was going to call back and see if she got a different answer from someone else, I think.
