Disney Rewards Visa ?

Prior to our last trip I transferred my reward points to a redemption card….I think there was $66 on it. I forgot to use it on the trip (I know…) and was saving it for our next….which is this coming November. Just got it out of my wallet and noticed it expired 12/13 !!!!!

I called the number on the back and they told me I lost those points, there is no way to transfer them to a new card. Is this true? Or is this another case of "keep calling Disney until you get the right person to help you?"

PP is correct. Once Reward points are transferred to a Rewards Redemption Card they take on the expiration date of the card. Cards are good for less than 2 years, so it's advised not to transfer points you don't expect to use. The only way to "extend" the life of those points is to purchase Disney Gift Cards using the Rewards Card, as the gift cards never expire.

I was so mad we forgot to use the card last trip….but I had the card and he took the kids to get souvenirs and it slipped my mind! The tip above is great, if it ever happens again, can I do that at a Disney store? Can I used the rewards redemption card at a Disney store back home to buy a gift card?

Yes.

I find the cure to things "slipping my mind" (which is so easy to do) is to apply it to our hotel account at check in while it's attached to all of our paperwork. Better yet, apply it to the cost of the room or package so I don't even have to worry about bringing the card on the trip.
Earmarking it to something that is low priority makes it easy to forget. Applying it to something that's a necessity to leave home (hotel reservation) makes it top priority. It seems I often don't think straight once I'm on vacation.
