Disney Rewards Visa?

Just wondering if anyone had the disney rewards visa and how they liked it.. do you get more rewards points if you use it on disney property? We have two small kids and plan on going to Disney at least every two years or so.. so I'm wondering if it would pay off...

I've had the card for a few years. While the return on dollars spent isn't that great (1%), I find myself motivated to run a lot of my expenses through the card because I think of that next Disney trip each time. I pay the bill in full each month. I've cashed out between $700 and $800 over the few years I've had the card, so I'm pretty happy with that.

You don't get higher than 1% for any spending on Disney property itself. Still 1%. But there are occasional offers that come through where you may get 3x or 5x the rewards by spending over a certain amount (varies) on specified categories like dining, travel, etc. during a specified period of time. I got $50 extra last fall on an offer like that.

The one good thing about the Disney Visa is that it does not have an annual fee. So many rewards credit cards charge you a fee upfront that makes it less rewarding in the long run.

I've been a cardmember since Day1 (says so right on my card). We use it for all of our bills that can be auto-billed to a CC (cellphone, cable, insurance, etc.) I've gotten the 3X and 5X rewards offers in the past and it's nice to get the additional Disney Rewards Dollars. We get about $200 in Disney Rewards Dollars each year.

I would say that there are better rewards cards out there that have larger percentages on their rewards and more flexible rewards (cashback, GCs). But so far I'm satisfied with the Disney Visa.

We have one as well and run all our groceries and "dining out" costs through the card and pay it off each month.

The return isn't big, but the fact that we don't ever pay interest because we pay it off means it's basically "free" Disney money for a teeny bit of hassle.

Ditto all of the above. People will argue saying "but you can get 1.5% back with card XYZ" but I just love my Disney points. It's a little perk that works for me. Everytime I spend $100 on it, I think to myself, there's another $1 for my next trip! Just last month I had to charge $800 for a truck repair & DH was grumblng - I looked at him & said "but honey that's a counter service meal for me!" He thinks I've flipped my lid!

Are there better cash back/points cards out there? Yes. But none of them interest me like the Disney Rewards VISA.

We get better rewards from our Amex, but since the better rewards= higher costs to the merchant, not everyone accepts Amex. We use our Disney Visa at places that don't.

You don't get more rewards for using it onsite, but you go get no interest for 6 months on vacation packages/cruises.

I searched for the best card for our small business & picked one the supposedly gave 5x on building supplies. Turns out that after ( but not included) you meet your annual minimum. To top it off they have an annual maximum that was so low we met it in 3 months.

Now we both have Chase accounts. We use his for work related & mine for household related.

If I could only find a way to pay the bills that don't accept credit cards, like tuition and mortgage, I could rack up another $200 Disney Dollars a year!

Ditto on LOVE the rewards.

DH and I both have one- Right now mine has $73 and DH's has $205 in rewards. We pay off monthly, so this is *free* money!!
We just recently decided to go in November and by then we'll have another $90 in rewards and so it'll be like we're eating for free all week!

Another perk is the free picture at Epcot and the discount at DTD WOD!!! Gotta love that!!

We also have every bill that we can automatically charged to our Disney Card and faithfully pay the entire balance off each month. With all the bills, groceries, and gas purchases we (knock on wood) should be able to get a free week's vacation next year. So yeah the card is worth it.

We bought a new motorhome earlier this year. The dealership was willing to charge the deposit to our visa, and then additional amount at settlement.


Now if you are one not to pay the balance in full each month, then no this will not work for you.

I'm a Day One Charter Card Holder and absolutely LOVE it! you get all the flexibility and convenience of VISA, plus earn free money to spend on your vacationsWe average $400 in rewards per year and every now and again, an excellent special offer pops up that adds value (we once received half off our 10 day resort package). Obviously it is not the card for you if you don't "do" Disney. But since we do, it's fabulous!

It's a fairly poor value as far as rewards cards go. I have it and basically only use it for the 6 months free interest and the free photos in Epcot.

For everything else, I either use my membership rewards card or my continental card.

Airline miles are worth at least 2 cents each, and more if you use them to fly first class.

I have it but the rewards take forever to accrue compared with Amex. The only reason I have it is because some places only take MC/Visa.

I am a day 1 card holder as well and no the returns aren't that great. But I use my rewards as my souvenior money, currently I have $150 for June. One less thing to spend $$$ on.

Just don't be late.....I was late twice and they closed my account and what I'm paying off now, I don't get any rewards credit. That's a bummer!

We love our Disney Chase Rewards Visa!!!

Since we try to go to Disney every other year, it works for us! We've accumulated 800 points whichi n turn was $800 off our trip! And then since using those points to 'pay' for our trip...we've already added another 50 or so since we use the card for everything!!! And we do pay it off monthly....basically using it as though it were our checking account/ATM card.

How long does it take to get your gift card once you request it? I'd want to make sure I get it before my trip!

I think they say 2 weeks but mine has always come within a week. That's just for your initial card, once you have the card you can transfer more points to it instantly by doing it online, or calling.

There are places in WDW that you can get your initial card on the spot as well.

Thanks! That's good to know. I was expecting the answer to be more along the lines of "6-8 weeks."

I just transferred my points to my rewards card for our trip this week.... Can I use the card at any place on Disney property??
