I thought they would charge your credit card when you hit a certain amount of purchases? I could be wrong. If they had already charged your credit card, they wouldn't be able to accept a different form of credit unless they gave you a refund on your credit card, I would think.

It's been awhile but I seem to remember this is what happened. The credit card had been charged and they wouldn't do a refund so we could use the rewards card. It was a stretch (ha) to spend more money to use the rewards card at the front desk. Just something to be aware of if you are planning to use a rewards card at a front desk.

There is a current list of restaurants on the Chase website that offer a 10% discount for Chase Visa customers, and the rewards card is considered the same way. So if you are paying with it, always ask your server if there is a discount. Many of the upper end restaurants may only offer the discount at lunch.

Thanks for that tip! I didn't realize that you could get the discount if paying with the reward card.
