I rec'd another credit card application for a Disney Reward Visa Card with a $200 gift card offer after the first use. I already do have two Disney Visa Cards. I was denied for the Disney card. I was told they no longer will allow you to open another Disney card if you already have one. I asked if I could apply for the card if I cancelled my current cards (that $200 would have been really nice for my next trip!). He said I could apply, but I would not get the $200 gift card. He said effective 2/22/11 they will only allow one $200 bonus per lifetime. :headache:

I have been told that canceling credit cards also can lower your credit rating.

it can temporarily bring it down, so if you are about to buy a car or house or get a loan where you need awesome credit, then don't do it. But if you don't see that happening in the next year, then the credit dip is not that affecting.

I just want to bump to see if anyone can confirm this. I already have an account, but I received another credit applic with the $200 Disney gift card bonus and want to know if it pays to send it in. I know I saw an older thread where people claimed they had received more than 1 gift card with more accounts opened up. Don't want to leave a free $200 out there if it is for the taking. Thanks.

If you currently have an account in your name you can no longer receive multiple cards. You used to, but recently they changed their rules. My hubby was listed as a signer on my account and we tried to get him his own account to get the $200 gift card, but he was denied for lack of credit. Funny thing is...he is the only one with a job!:rotfl: My card has a balance of over $3000 every month which we pay off 100% each month. He makes well over 100,000/year, yet he couldn't get his own card! Go figure!:confused3

I posted a thread about this a couple of weeks ago. I actually called and spoke with the Disney Visa folks at Chase because we have accounts and continue to receive these offers.

The short answer is NO, you cannot get another offer (no matter what it is). So you cannot get the $200 if you have ever had a Disney Visa, even if you close your current account.

This may have been different at one time but this is the current stance at Chase (who offers the Disney Visa).

If an offer is made to your spouse then they can get it, if they do not/have not ever had a Disney Visa.

It's disappointing, I know.

i know it's not really a "solution" but you can do what we do, since we fly to disney... we got a southwest visa... two free roundtrips... worth more than $200 disney dollars!! so we use both cards and rack up flights and rewards :)

Chase keeps sending these offers to us as well. My DH and I have a joint account, he has one of his own (got $150 for his) and I have 2 of my own
($200 each) but that was before they changed the rules. We got another offer last week, Chase says we couldn't get another because of the new rules. Then we got another offer in the mail today! Not sure how many people they think live in my house who can get a Visa.:confused3 By the way, the Southwest Visa offer for two RT tickets is over. It's now 20,000 points for getting the card.

i wanted to know if i could apply for the visa and get enough money to pay for a trip for two. I dont want to apply for it if im only going to get $300 because that would not help at all

get enough of a *credit limit* to charge a trip for two or get enough free rewards to pay for a trip for two?

I just got this offer in the mail too. Is the $200 gift card the best incentive offered?

It's the best one I've seen..Am I the only one who thinks $200 to open an account after 1st use is an awesome deal?!

I too think it is great. DH already has a card (no bonus 5 yrs ago) I opened one in my name for the $200

JMO, but I think it would take a while to rack up enough points to pay for an entire vacation. They accru pretty slowly unless they're running a bonus deal.

Same for us. I am an authorized user on DH's card, but I opened one in my name to get the free $200 gift card. I used it a few times and in less than a month I recieved the gift card. I actually got the gift card before I've even gotten my first statement:thumbsup2
We use our Disney Visa to pay everything possible and pay it in full every month. It works out great for us, we use our reward points as our spending money when we are in Disney:)

P.S. I took advantage of this offer about a month ago and just yesterday we go the same offer in the mail (wish I could get another free $200, oh well).

Is this true fr any chase Disney card? I have one where I got the $200 but I got am application for $50 with first purchase on another one, will they allow me to get it or no?

about once a month we get the letter in the mail about the $200 card if you join
and both my wife and i already have the disney card
seems like a huge waste of money and stuff to keep sending things to people who don't qualify :confused3

I think it's an awesome deal! I appreciate it so much I am using it instead of Discover everywhere I can. Only Sam's Club doesnt take it so far. We both got one because we each got separate offers in the mail. $400 in gift cards for food and 40% pin off deluxe will help us go back to Disney sooner!

I actually think it's a great offer, but as a savvy consuemr wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything else. :-) This is the first time I've gotten an offer from Disney...and I just applied and got approved.
