Also if you look online at your credit account, it has a link to the rewards card. It breaks out how manypoints you have, when they expire, if you've transferred them to the rewards card, etc.
You are also allowed (and encouraged) to get a second card (order it online free) with a new expiration date so you don't load up your first card with too many points that expire with the card.
I only transferred the $20 needed to get my rewards card (expiration date in Jan was 12/04) - then I called the 800# the day before check out and they automatically moved the rest of my points over to my reward card. I didn't want all of my points on the card with an expiration date - just in case something had happened to cancel our trip or cut it short before we needed the rewards points. Applied all the points towards my bill at check out with no problem !
I'm assuming you mean the points in your account; that sounds about right.
The important thing is that you don't load any points down to the card that you will not be able to use before the expiration date on the CARD. Regardless the expiration date of the points in your account, once they are transferred to the card they carry the expiration date on the card and cannot be transferred back to the account.
Since Im a DVC member, I wont be using my Reward Card for lodging; so what else can I use it for? Is it good all over WDW or just certain places? How do I know what places take it?

The Bank One website has information about what uses you can use your rewards points for.
For us, we used it to help pay for park admissions. I've also heard they'll take them as payment for DVC member dues....now there's something we can all use them for!!
