I wasn't sure but that looks like a train stationI could've sworn they were my getting a train.
Must be unchinese to have a train if you look around no references to Walt either no partners statue... China don't want Walt.Like the old blues song ... "That Train Don't Stop Here Any More".
I have been surprised at how large and sparse the park looks, with a handful of buildings separated by quite large areas of trees and pathways.
Then I realized what it reminds me of: the Temple of Heaven Park in Beijing. This is the home of the real-life temple of which the Epcot structure is a copy.

Not every park or tourist attraction in China looks like this, but it is a certain style that is usually found in city parks. The city parks I visited are smaller than say Central Park, but still very large, have a small admission fee, and are more or less intensively gardened and (in places) exquisitely decorated with temples and ornamental bridges scattered here and there.
Whereas most Disney parks are a miniature urban centers with different eras/locales represented (midwestern USA, a medieval town, a frontier town, Sunset Blvd, Harambe, etc.) it looks like Disney (or their Chinese overlords, LOL) decided to present Shanghai DL as a city park type of environment.
What with the large spaces and the relative lack of rides, it looks like nobody is going to cater to "commando" tourists. I should think that for anyone to rush between rides or between lands would be considered rather gauche in China ... as the old fortune cookie message says, "he who walks fast cannot walk with dignity".
I wonder if old men will show up with their grandchildren and start flying kites like they do in city parks. Will they actually sell kites and encourage it?
