Here is a side-by-side comparison of SDL and MK at the same scale. I may have misjudged the exact boundaries of the attraction areas of Shanghai. It may be bigger than the yellow line or it may be smaller.
One thing that jumps out at you is that MK is a very compact park, except for the large spaces dedicated to the back nine of Rivers of America/Tom Sawyer, Jungle Cruise and Tomorrowland Speedway. The parking lot inside the berm between Carousel of Progress and Main Street is arguably the biggest waste of space.
Then again, MK has by far the most rides of any Disney park so ... size ain't everything.
