Hey yall!

I asked this in the resorts section but I thought I'd post it here as well seeing as though I'm more likely to find people my age here. I am planning on booking a solo trip to Disney in either late January or Early February I'll be staying at the Value resorts and was wondering what do ya'll think of them. I did the college program a couple of years ago (2007) but never thought about Resort Hopping to scout the resorts. I'm not particularly picky about where I stay but I was just wondering the pros and cons in your opinion. Also, do you think that there would be a lot of enjoyment for a 23 year old at the resorts after the parks close.

Thanks for any and all help!!

Which value resort are you staying at? I've stayed at Pop Century before and I'll be staying at the All Star in September... To be honest, I was rarely at the resort, but the rooms were pretty much "regular" hotel rooms... a couple beds, a bathroom and a sink/vanity area with a TV. Nothing too fancy.

My parents are DVC members so we normally stay at one of those resorts and so I don't really like staying at Pop/All Star simply because it's not "home" if you get what I mean.

Any Disney Resort will let you get into EMH hours at the parks as long as you have your room key with you, and really all EMH has to offer is extended park hours with some, not all- rides open. At epcot a couple years ago, EMH time for MIssion space was about 5 mintues... yet for Soarin and Test Track the wait times were still WELL over an hour. Go figure.

You might get some good photo ops w/ less people in the parks if that's something you're into.

But as far as the resorts themselves go, the value resorts are nice and cheap and they are nice for what you pay for them!!

Enjoy :)

I'm not really that picky about what resort that I would be staying at considering I'd probably only use it to sleep/shower and maybe lay out by the pools/arcade when I get bored Heck... might even swing for a moderate if I can find a good enough deal. I was just curious about people my own age thought about the resorts. But anywhoo... thanks for the reply!

My personal favorite of the Values is POP Century. The theming is bright and fun, and I enjoy the references to pop culture history. My boyfriend and I even had a blast walking around one afternoon and talking about the decor. Maybe it's just us, but it was fun to walk through and say "Wow, I remember that!" I enjoy the food at the Classic Hall and I don't think the resort is too big. Some people feel that it's too spread out, but I disagree. I enjoy some space between sections and buildings; that way I don't feel like all of the guests are right on top of each other like I would in a closed-in hotel.

I've only stayed at one All-Star resort, and that was the Music section. The room was fine for us, but I just didn't enjoy it as much as POP. Not something I can put in words well, but it just felt different in a negative way to me. We all have our favorites, though.

And a big pro for me is that POP has its own bus system. The All-Stars share buses to Downtown Disney, Typhoon Lagoon, and maybe some other places. So if the bus fills up at the first All-Stars resort, then you have to wait for the next one and hope that one isn't full, too.

So my vote is for POP! :thumbsup2
