The best price was around $65 at the All Stars and they don't like it there. Does anyone else have any ideas?

You might want to check mousesavers.com. She list special discounts that are going on for Disney hotels and the nearby hotels.

Also what rate were they looking for and when are they going?

Lady Lt--Maybe I taught high school English for too long. I have no problem understanding the above post. It's written better than a lot of questions put forth in writing by my students. To translate: Sparkly Zoe is asking where to get a cheap hotel room. The group that is going doesn't like All Stars, which is the cheapest room she found on site.

I would say the cheapest you could find an on-site room that isn't at a value resort would be at the Swan/Dolphin by going through Hotwire. Lately people have been getting rooms for $111/night, but in early summer people were getting rooms for $80/night. There have been several threads on how to make sure you get Swan or Dolphin rooms when you bid. You might want to do a search on that.

Try www.TravelZoo.com, they have some places in Orlando right now that are quite inexpensive. In fact Courtyard by Marriott in DTD area is $49 night (some restrictions apply--also need to reserve before Oct 22). -HM

The DTD Resorts usually have something going about the same rate as a Disney value resort, but with much nicer accommondations and larger rooms. I would check out the Grosvenor, Best Western, Marriot Courtyard, Hotel Royal Plaza. Good luck.

The cheapest rate I've heard of is at the Courtyard DTD. They were offering a rate of $20.03 per night (must prepay and no refunds are allowed). You have to call the hotel directly and ask for the rate. I'm not sure if they have any availability left but it might be worth a try!
