If I am not mistaken the busses stop running from parks to resorts an hour after park close, is this right?

I am asking because I have an 8:30pm ADR at Ohana and I am staying at CSR. The MK closes at 9 that night does that mean I have to hurry thru dinner and make sure I am back at the bus terminal outside the magic kingdom with plenty of time to spare? If not how do we get back to our resort if the busses are no longer running?

Please help we leave in about 20 days and would really like to not worry about this.

The busses continue to run from all the parks until the guests are cleared it is often alot longer than an hour after closing. The monorail will only run for an hour after the park closes so you may be cutting it close on that, you can always take the boat to MK and then bus back to CSR. Or just grab a DTD bus from the Poly and transfer to CSR bus at DTD.

Don't rush dinner because you are worried about transportation. Just take a bus from the Poly to DTD and then transfer to the CSR bus. Buses to/from DTD don't run as often as those to/from the theme park so the journey might take a little longer, but you will be able to get back to your resort.

you could always ask them to call you a cab too! ask them the price before hand if you are worried about your budget.

Also once a park is closed they may stop transportation to that park. The MK is a little different though because its part of the monorail system, but at some point they won't let you leave the monorail or take the boat back.

They always say they won't leave you stranded at a park, well the best way for that to not happen is to not take you to a closed park.

This is the truth. My family and I have been picked up once by a WDW bus with one of the character names on its sign (as opposed to the resort/park it was going to). Was late at night, and involved routing us through the TTC and us getting a ride as the only people on the bus... but they did not strand us.

Hey - what does the character name mean? We saw lots of "Rapunzel" busses when we were there recently.

Last year we almost got stranded at HS!!! :scared1: I forgot the story but it wasn't pretty!

buses run longer than hour after park closes but monorail is now only running hour after park closes. WDW will NOT leave you stranded we found out three years ago as we had ate at Cape May and was late and they let us in back entrance to Epcot and walked us to a bus.. was eery being in an empty Epcot but we did see the "burn off" of the Illuminations globe which was interesting...:yay:

Don't worry about transportation, as stated before you will not be stranded. If are worried about how to get from here to there you can alway ask guest relations, someone at your resort, at a park, or someone on here.

And this was a Disney Dining CM who told you this (I assume)? The buses will be running until everyone is out of the park. If the park closes at 9, then the buses will run until 10:30, at least. But, the monorail will not be running past 10:00.
If it were me, I wouldn't even think about going back to MK...hate the thought of arriving at the bus stop more than 45 mins after the park closes, but that's just me. You could take the bus to DTD from the Polynesian, or just take a cab back to your resort.

Often, it's to denote a bus that is either out of service or dead-heading to another destination, but not carrying guests. "Rapunzel" is nicer than "Out Of Service".

We took a tour and I actually asked this question when the guide talked about the buses. It means that it's out of service - buses carrying cast members are denoted "VIP". If it has a character's name, it's either heading to the barn or could be traveling to start a new route, so it won't pick up passengers.
