Every now and then I cruise disney.com looking at new specials/features.....well i just happened to "book" that summer dream maker package....

June 5-19
Pop century resort
UPH tickets
1 adult 1 child (16)
$2,033 :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

well....i'm considering booking it...especially since we will have an "all access" pass....but I'm slightly hessitant....
We went last august...and did most...including mission space....I know wishes and phillamagic will be new to us...but i'm still cautious....so a few questions....

1) Is there enough to do there for 2 weeks...
2) Is POP a decent enough resort to stay at...we can't go much higher with such short notice....is it a place where you can relax alittle....
3) Has anyone gone for this long of a period...was it worth it....
4) Is this even a good deal...we worked it out for one week (1,300)...it was only $700 more for the extra week....

Thanks for any help...I'm reading reviews on POP now...but anything regarding my question would be great!

Forgot to mention....

Would it be possible(allowed) to spend the day at the GF or POLY just sitting on the beach and boating???
I know pool-hopping is frowned upon...but could we tan out on the beach for an afternoon??

:boat:

I doubt that you have done "everything" that there is to do at WDW....

How about:

- Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue or the Poly Luau?
- Boating?
- Fireworks Cruise?
- Tour the resorts, and take a tour, i.e. the WL has a tour of the lodge.
- Miniature golf?
- Water Parks?
- afternoon tea at the GF?
- Rafiki Planet Watch/Conservation Station at AK?
- Take a day or two to just relax
- take a backstage tour of Epcot or MK

Also check out Deb's site, she has Overlooked attractions listed that you may or may not be aware of.

I doubt that you will get bored.

For that length of time, you may be able to save money by getting an Annual Pass or Premium Annual Pass, depending on your interest in water parks. See mousesavers.com for details.

1. In my opinion there is plenty to do for 2 weeks - I've never stayed longer than 8 days at a stretch, but have always wished I had more time. If you have a car you could go to Cape Canaveral one day. Maybe Universal or Sea World.

2. I have not been to POP so can't answer this question - but it IS disney, so anywhere is decent enough in my mind

3. Like I said in #1, 7 or 8 days is never enough for me I say with UPHs - go wild, enjoy.

4. I would guess POP for 2 weeks cost about $1100, so you are getting 2 14 day UPHs for about $900. That seems like a good deal to me.

If you can afford to be way from home that long - I say enjoy.

I would love to have two weeks!!
I would eat at every world in Epcot, and enjoy the pool at my
resort more.
It would feel less rushed and I would never get bored at disney.

Have you been to Disney Quest, that can take a day.
you can rent a boat.
you can see each and every parade.

Enjoy a Hay Ride at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds -

Rent an electric cart at the Bike Barn at Fort Wilderness

There is a nice, self-guided nature walk in the woods near Fort Wilderness

Wilderness Lodge: see Disney's version of Old Faithful

just a few neat ideas off allears.net

I highly doubt you will get bored in Disney, there is always something new to try there. My dbf and I will be there for 12 days in May/June and wish it was longer. If I could afford it I'd stay 3 weeks, but I don't have that kind of time available. I personallly wouldn't get the UPH only because I don't plan on being in the parks everyday. If you do plan on going to the parks everyday then it may be worth it to get an AP. For my 12 day stay we only have 5-day hoppers because we plan on doing a lot of relaxing by the pool, resort hopping and lots of new things we haven't tried before! Either way 1 week or 2, have a great time!

What wonderful idea's :)

We stayed 9 nights, 10 days our first trip - we were beginners.
We were lost and wondering around MK on our 1st day- so we
were glad for the extra days.

Our second trip was 7 nights, 8 days - too fast, not enogh time.
We spent too many days at MK and not enough in EPCOT.
My DH agrees and was disappointed in our lack of EPCOT.

Our next trip - DS & DD requested 14 days - yes 2 weeks.
Now they are novices - they want to go horse back riding,
see the HDD (again), rent water sprites (or what ever they are called now), go to the FWL campfire, do the Magic Family tour at MK, play mini-golf Disney style and split the stay between the WL and Dolphin resorts.

We will have to get the Annual Pass (again). Unless we get
a great Disney Visa rate with tickets (like this year's offer).

enjoy :teeth:

thanks for the ideas....since it is short notice...I doubt we could get the money together for the $$$ attractions....but things like boating and mini golf...are definatly on our list....
The advantage to the UPH are definatly the waterparks and Disneyquest...so i dunno if we'll spring for the AP passes again(we had them a while ago)

Edited to add....

I tried to figure out the cost with the APs....

POP for those 2 weeks is $1,701.56
and for 2 annual passes its $758
making the total....$2459.56
- it would be worth it if we were going to be going back within the next year (not likely) and we weren't intreseted in the water parks....well maybe it is worth it...i dunno I'm all confused!

We stayed for two weeks(actually 16 days!) a couple of years ago. We never ran out of things to do, and no one got bored! We never felt rushed, spent lots of relaxing time at the resort pools(stayed at Movies 8 nights, Comtemporary last 7 nights), rented boats, played mini golf, did water parks, and parked hopped doing the things we liked best the last few days. It was great not having to cram lots of stuff into a short period of time. We are going for 11 days this year and can't wait! You will have a great time!

I agree with the other posters, which offered great suggestions. There really is so much to do.

Another suggestion is to resort hop. Just because you are staying on Disney property doesn't mean you can't visit Sea World or Universal Studios too. Also be sure to visit AKL and watch the animals. :)

We stayed for two weeks a few years back. It was our best trip ever! We were able to take our time and enjoy the little things that you sometimes miss in the rush of a shorter trip. We spent time at our hotel pool, did the water parks, dh & db played golf, used the watercraft at the resort, played mini-golf. The best part was at the end of week one, you still had week two to look forward to. We also dined at some of the other resort restaurants and explored them a little bit, which is something we never have seem to have time to do on the shorter trips.

It really depends on what type of Disney experiences you greatly enjoy and could possibly expand upon, and which ones would bore you after a while. Do you just like the parks? Do you like water parks? Howabout golf? Does lying on the beach for hours bring you to ultimate relaxation? Can you stretch these activities 2 weeks? These questions only you can answer.

My family always stays 2 nights/2 days at Universal, and 5 nights/6 days at WDW. Not saying thats good or bad, thats just the way it is with us. We are there primarily for the parks, as golfing, boating, horseback riding, and all the rest always seemed like more of the same that can easily be done at many other resorts. If you just love everything WDW has from the parks to the resorts to all the activities possible, then definitely go for it. 2 weeks may not be enough time to see all the WDW resort has to offer, but it can come damn close.

However, if you just like riding the rides, seeing the shows and parades, and want to limit yourself to purely the parks, DtD, and some resorts, then I would say that any more than 8 days is stretching the limit.

In 6 days at Disney World, I can do every major and minor attraction at all 4 parks (and possibly Disney Quest) easily without going commando style or tiring myself out. By drinking water constantly, making smart use of early entry, using the parades to your advantage, and just playing the parks smart, it can be amazing how much you can really do. Of course I always go to WDW in July, so the early June situation might be different, I don't know.

Just buy an all-inclusive guide-book and a jot down activities you can afford and want to try. Add the length of these activites to your park/resort time, and you will get a good idea of whether 2 weeks is good for you.

Oh My!!! Most people would die to have that much time.

We are able to stay for 11 to 12 days and we wish we could stay for more.

You will have plenty to do.

I would suggest doing the renting of the Mouse Boats. They do a family/trip plan. You can use them for the whole time of your trip. They are sooooo much fun.

I second going to Hoop-De-Doo. It is the bomb!

I would lastly say.......

Sit back and enjoy the time. Think of the poor families that are worried if they will have enough time to see it all and you are worried if you are going to have enough to do.

I say get bored. At least you are bored at DISNEY!

Answers to your questions:

1) More then enough to do for 2 weeks. You will not get bored. In fact, come the end of the trip you will probably be wishing you did not have to leave.

2) Pop Century is decent, but you may prefer one of the moderates. They are more suited to spending time kicking back and relaxing. I realize cost is an issue, so see 4 below.

3) I went for 13 nights last August and had a blast. It was worth every penny.

4) Not a bad deal, but you could probably do better. With that long of a stay you will be better off with annual passes. I believe they are cheaper then UPH for that length of stay. Not only that, but you will also be entitled to discounts on hotels, dining and recreation.

I recommend the following: Call CRO and ask for annual passholder availability for your dates at any of the moderate resorts. If available, price along with 2 annual passes. This should be slightly cheaper then what you are currently paying for 14 nights at the Pop Century. If so, cancel your current booking and make the new reservation with the AP rate.

Hope this info helps. Have a grat time.

One last thing. Another advantage with the AP is that it comes in useful should you decide on another spontaneous trip during the next 12 months.

We go for a month every year and have yet to see everything so I doubt that you have even come close. Besides not having to fly through the parks, you can also enjoy the resort more. Go play mini olf, shop at DtD, hit DisneyQuest, take in a few dinner shows. There is so much to do!

I think you can do a bit better than $2459.56 for the two weeks. I would call POP and see if they have the AP rate of $59 for your dates. If so you could get 2 of the ultimate annual passes (includes Water Parks at DQ) for about $530/each. You would then have an option to visit within a year for about the same cost as your package.

I would get the AP's and get a moderate at an AP rate. We are staying for 13 nights at POFQ and it is costing $1,073.00 total. This will be our 4th visit with these passes and 3 of those visits were for 13 nights, the other being 11 nights.

We never get bored. Someone asked me today how could we possibly enjoy 2 weeks in Disney especially since we go so often. What they don't realize is that since you are there for so many days, with unlimited park access, you really feel like you are on vacation. We sometimes go to EE and stay for an hour or 2, go back to the pool for a couple of hours, then can return to the parks in the evening for fireworks or parades. It's wonderful. No rushing or having that feeling like you need to spend 12 hours in the park.

I would also suggest a moderate for that length. We enjoyed our 2 week stay at CBR last May because even though the grounds are large, we had plenty of time to explore. It was fun!

Good luck with your planning!
