I have read several people referring to their Disney Resort AAA discounts. For a room only reservation do they seem very good??? Are they bookable thru Disney or only thru AAA? I have tried them in years' past and have never found the discount to be very much....has all that changed for the better? I have a AAA card but do not like dealing with their agents unless I need to as I live in a different (small) town than they are located. Is it worth pursuing? Due to the limited number of discounts currently out their I am currently booked at the Swan with a AAA rate. I would love some of the other disney deluxes but thought they were not affordable without the old discount code system. My trip is for next May. Inputs and advice appreciated.:earsboy:

I booked my AAA rates through Central Reservations. They ask for a AAA number and you are requested to show the card at check-in. If they come out with any room-only codes for your time of year, you can call CRO and have the new discount applied (assuming there is availability).

I'm not sure what all the discounts are throughout the year, but I'm getting 15% off of a Deluxe resort in the value season (February). I think mousesavers.com has a list of what the discounts are for the various Disney 'seasons'.

I also booked my AAA discounted room through CRO. The AAA membership reduces my room at WL from $221 per night to $188 per night, including taxes, during January 2004.

I was too busy with the start of school & missed the Winter Dream Package (or whatever it was called) window, so got stuck having to use my AAA card. I never did price it out...I don't think I want to know. Anyway, I'm staying at CSR and got a 10% discount. I had hoped for more. I had heard about so many "room only" discounts in the past, but it appears that Disney has faded those out. Oh, well. This may be a once in a life time event, so I will just do it.....I booked through Disney over the phone.

Thanks for all the input. I too was spoiled by all the previous discount codes Disney used to put out. Since it used to be so much better to book separates versus packages I purchased my them park tickets thinking it was only a matter of time until a good discount code ran. Much to my surprise those days are over. I guess we are just lucky that the AAA discount is still offered. Appreciate the input. :D
