disney quest

In a way it is a big arcade, and then it is so much more. We love the Buzz Lightyear Bumper cars, the Virtual Jungle Cruise, and the Cheesecake Factory. We always spend an evening (or a rainy day) at Disney Quest.

I've heard so many people say "is it just an arcade?" And trust me, it's SO much more. On my last trip, I finally decided to pay a visit to DisneyQuest, mainly because I was in the neighborhood, but also because I knew it was covered by my Ultimate Park Hopper Plus pass (thank GOD for that thing!). Anyway, when's the last time you saw an arcade that was, what, three? four stories tall? There are amazing virtual reality games. Personally, I fell in love with the virtual pinball, on which you stand on podiums and then... how to describe it? Throw yourself around as if you're having a fit in order to manipulate your pinball and score points as you play against other players, also flinging themselves around as if they're having fits. Actually, maybe a better image is this: Remember how on Star Trek, whenever the Enterprise was fired upon, the actors all grabbed onto the railing around the bridge while flailing about? That's how it looks! The Buzz LIghtyear Bumper Cars, which you drive around while firing foam balls at your opponents, is also a blast. And if you're suddenly feeling nostalgic for arcades of old, you'll find the place littered with all the classics... Tempest, Space Invaders, Centipede... all of which you can play to your hearts content without those pesky quarters, as it's included in the entrance price!

I don't know if I'd lay down $20-plus bucks for it, but heck, if it's included with your pass, it's a great way to kill a couple of hours!

If you have teens in your party, they will enjoy DQ! We went here in July with our UPHP through the FairyTale Package. It's open until 11pm, and is a great way to spend a couple of hours!

So the admission is covered by the uph plus? Are each of the 'games' then covered as well? Or is it a pay by play and the admission has just been covered by your uph plus?

Im 14 and I LOVED dq. not only does it have the buzz light year, the pinball and traditional arcade games but you can create your own c.d, rollercoaster AND ride it! You can also sit down for a little while and surf the net for free, whilste eating a (v.nice) cake from the top floor cafe. It's brilliant, I would definatley recomend it!

Admission is covered by UPH and by Premium Annual Pass.

All standup video games are free.
All Virtual Reality games are free.

Games that issue Tickets to win prizes cost quarters. And if you want you can buy the Toy you create in the Toy Creation machines.

They also have Animation lessons every hour or so in the evening for free. First come first seat.

The Pirates of the Caribbean Virtual Reality ride is cool. You and 4 other people steer a ship and fire cannons at virtual pirates that come after you. (The Ship is real, the pirates are virtual)

You can also ride and try to steer a raft down a virtual river. (The raft is real, the river is virtual)

They have a roller coaster design area where you can design and then ride the coaster you design in a simulator.

Here's a link to Deb's page with a description of the "rides" inside:

My son(10) and I love DQ. We go at least once every trip to Disney.
