We have a trip planned for February with our girls ages 8 and 6. We are interested is disney quest. Is it worth it? How much time should I plan on being there? Is it open the same hours as the shops at downtown Disney?

My kids enjoyed it at that age. There are tons of different video games to play and there are some interactive things the whole family can do together. My husband and I also really enjoyed the "classic gaming" area where they have games like pacman, centipede, qbert, etc. It's basically a huge 4 or 5 story? arcade. Definitely more enjoyable when it's not crowded though.

I'm not sure what hours it is open, you could check the Disney website as I think it varies based on the time of year.

Do any of the online crowd calendars include Quest? How would I know which day would be best? With 2 boys ages 6 & 7 I know they'd love it.

Generally DQ is busier when

Its raining
Late afternoons and evenings
On weekends

No, I don't think it's included on any crowd calendars. I think going early in the day when they first open is probably best (I believe they usually open around 11 am).

I did it for the first time last summer with DS11 and DD8. We had the water Parks and more tickets so I didn't pay extra for it and I am glad. We had fun, but not enough to go back again or pay full admission. We all agreed that we would have rather spent our time elsewhere. The best for us was the Space Mountain create a coaster, but the line was longest for that. The other problem was the huge construction mess at Downtown Disney. The bus stop was far from DQ. Hopefully, that is better now.

Are the packages still coming with two free admissions? That might help.

We have the premium annual pass this year so I am not worried so much about cost more so if it is worth our time. We will be getting into WDW about 7pm on a Sunday and we were going to start with downtown disney.

Do your kids like video games? Do you? Will loud arcade noises bother you? My daughter and I had a blast, but it was relatively empty and we both really like video games. The roller coaster simulator was neat, but your girls might be too young for it. There is also a drawing class like at Hollywood Studios, only this one is digital instead of with pencils.

We are going with my 7 year old and 9 year old in February. I know they will love it. The only negative is that the virtual space mountain and the Buzz Lightyear bumper cars have a 51" height requirement, so my 7 year old won't be able to ride those attractions. He is hugely upset about this, but we will take him to enjoy something else in the arcade while my 9 y.o. rides Buzz/Virtual Space Mountain.

We too dd to DQ for her 16th birthday. She loved it!! I was however, not a fan. If your kids like video games than they will probably like it. I got an extreme headache and did not enjoy it. Oldest is dying to go back though.

We are two middle agers and made it all of 10 minutes a few years back. But... we get two tickets with our package so might stop in for a few minutes to see if they have pacman and play a few rounds!

We just received Disney mail with FREE admission to Disney Quest and mini golf for our upcoming trip next month. We're going to check out Disney Quest for sure. Haven't been in 14 years. Hope it's still good.

I've been to Disney lots of times but never to DQ. How much does it cost to get in?
Do you have to use one of your park tickets to get in? In other words, we have a 5 day ticket for when we go in Feb, would it use one of those 5 days if we went to Quest?

Thanks,

Karen :)

My youngest DS loves it. He has since the first time we went. He was 9. Now he's 13. The last trip we went back a second day for him. My oldest likes it a little, but could skip it. He's only a year older. I'm not a fan of it, but I don't really like video games.

Do you like to stand in line to play video games? Then this is the place for you.

If it's free, I might go. I'd never pay full price for it. The lines for the major attractions are so long and not worth the wait. I'm sometimes suprised that Disney Quest is still in business.

Thanks for the input everyone. We have it included in our package so we will probably try it out.

We took our DD's when they were 12 and 9. They liked it fine - 3 hours was enough. Our only problem was that our youngest DD is very short and could not go on the same rides as our older DD. You might want to check the height requirements just to make sure that your children know ahead of time if they are not tall enough for a ride.
As a family we really liked the Pirates ride and Jungle Cruise ride.
Last summer we let DD's go by themselves for 3 hours (they were 12 and 15) while we shopped at DTD :thumbsup2 It was just enough time for them to do everything. They went right at opening time (I think it was 11:30am) and it wasn't too busy. We used the 2 free vouchers from our Vacation Package so it didn't end up costing us anything. Their favourite ride was the 'Build your own coaster'.
They are looking forward to going again this August :)
