Disney Quest...still outdated?

I remember being impressed with DQ in the first few years it was open, but the last couple trips, it really seems run-down and behind the times. Heck, my XBox Kinect at home has better graphics and augmented reality abilities.

Does anyone know if any updates have been made?

We received 2 free tickets in our visitor booklet, so I'm wondering if it's worth our time, or if it's same ol', same ol'. Our last 2 visits were in 2010 and 2012.

We were last there last May. It was about the same as ever, with the same percentage of broken games. As of then none of the "big" games had been changed (the VR rides, the Buzz ball blaster thing, etc.).

We stopped buying passes for it because it was always overcrowded. People get on a machine and they simply do not leave; we would stand around forever at a game hoping to play it. Since the "big" games are so outdated now we don't really have a lot desire to play them, we just go to the arcades at resorts and stuff since they usually have the same games there with no wait.

If your tickets are free, and you have time to kill on a rainy day, why not use them - personally we made the decision not to pay for access to it anymore.

We went to DQ for the first time earlier this year. Major disappointment. The interior itself was dark and dirty, and the VR video games that we did play, seemed glitchy and quite outdated.

The "old" video games were pretty cool for a guy in his 40's like me who grew up on Pacman, Galaga and Donkey Kong, and I could have spent a few hours playing them, but they held zero interest for my wife and daughter. We were in and out of DQ in less than 90 minutes.

They had put a few newer games in some of the areas, but a lot of the old ones remain and many were in not-so-great states of repair. The addition of the Fix-It Felix games were nice. However, as long as they have Virutal Pirates of the Caribbean, I'm always down for a visit. I LOVE that thing!

Ugghh...that's what I was afraid of.

Basically, we'll save it for a "rainy day" and see if feel like going when the time comes.

My family and I have not been to Disney sence 2005 a long time I was wondering if you all think it is worth a day sence we have not been sence 2005. My son was not tall enought to ride the build your own roller coaster and wants to do that.

I would say it's an afternoon or an evening at best...def not a full day, IMO.

The Virtual Space Mountain is not that different from Sum of All Thrills at Epcot. If that is the only thing you want to do at DQ you might be better off working SOAT into your Epcot time.

Those VR games are really outdated and not that good. They could do so much better with modern tech. The best things are the floor of classic arcade games (and Skee Ball!) and the Virtual POTC game (which could also use updated graphics).

Honestly, I just go there after a day at the parks to sit and play pinball for a few hours. Get's my fix and I'm happy.

Of course the only reason I go is because its included with my AP, else, not chance I would spend money :P
