Hi Everyone!
I have a question about Disney Quest. Last year when we went, the CM at the ticket center said that it would be a waste of money for our 3 & 5 year old at the time. This year, when we go, they will be 4 & 6. In your opinions, will they enjoy it this year or will they not be able to enjoy anthing. Also, there are some areas where there are height restricitons as well I have noticed. The 4 year old is 38" and the 6 yr old is 46". Any input will be greatly appriciated.
Thanks!

If your kids love video games and understand "virtual reality" gaming then go. There are height restrictions on some virtual rides, so be prepared. Also be prepared for level 4. That level has machines that require tokens/money for prizes. Children the ages of yours are drawn to it (mine were) even though they could access everything else with the price of admission. We did Disney Quest on our return day from the cruise. Our flight didn't leave until 7PM. We were at DQ from opening (11?) until 5PM and it was enough. It gave DH and me a headache (dark and noisy), but we're just getting old I guess. It really was fun, though. Also, the "design your own roller coaster" also has a size limit. A friend of mine who is 6'5" couldn't fit! His kids rode his roller coaster. Be prepared: if you design rollovers or inversions, you will be inverted and rolled! If your kids are only lukewarm about gaming, then do something else (I always vote for more of Magic Kingdom!!)

We went to DQ last year with our 3 yo DS, just-turned-6 DD, and just-turned-10 DS. Clearly, the 10 year old loved it and could have spent two weeks there, but the other kids liked it too. There was lots that the 6 year old could do.....she liked making her own song in the recording stuido (with my help); she did the animation course and learned to draw Mickey; she decorated cakes on the computer, designed her own toy with the computer, made faces on the computer, etc. I'm not sure if she was tall enough to do the Virtual Reality games, but the lines made us avoid those anyway. The 3 year old also had fun......he did many of the things his sister did, and he also played one of those hydroplane games for about an hour.....we'd never spend the money for him to play that in a real arcade, but once you pay admission, the games are all 'free', so we let him play (crash!) all he wanted......nobody else really seemed interested in that game anyway.

We had tickets which included DQ and were in Orlando for 12 days, so it seemed like something fun/different to do. I probably wouldn't have wanted to pay admission for the two younger kids to go to DQ.....not so much because they wouldn't enjoy it but because I personally don't enjoy spending more than a couple hours in an arcade.....even if it is a really nice arcade. If the description of the activities sound fun though and if you have the money/time it might be worth checking out. Have a great trip!

I personally would not spend the money to take a four and six year old into Disney Quest. There are a few things the kids won't want to do, and a few that they could be intimidated by.

Here are some height restrictions:

Cyberspace Mountain--51 inches
Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlasters--51 inches
Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam--48 inches

Ride the Comix and the Magic Carpet ride require that you put on virtual reality helmets, which are a bit heavy, and could spook little ones.

There are several things that you can do as a family: Virtual Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Alien Encounter.

I think they would appreciate it more in a few more years. If you have to pay for admission, you might want to do some more research before deciding if it's right for your kids. If you have a pass that includes admission, go in and check it out, and if it's not right for your family, at least you didn't spend the money on it.

If you have a ticket that includes Disney Quest, then give it a try. If you have to pay over and above for a day's admission, I would wait until they are older. There are a lot of things they cannot do due to their height.

I still have not taken my DDs who are 9 and 6 because they are not into video games like my DS and I have no desire to chase them around five stories of video gaming building that has low lighting.
