Question about what they learned about Mulan as premium.

Second question on the parks losses.

Chapek says they were pleased with what they saw with Mulan. The title met with controversy but saw positives. Talk more at investor day. Soul is about great content for base level subscribers and see it as a nice holiday gesture.

So no mention of gross for Mulan?

CNBC just had a comment on the stock I had not thought about - it's both a "stay at home" (D+) and a "reopening" (parks, etc.) play and it helps explain why it's so expensive and resilient right now.

Cruise line has a light at the end of the tunnel and they can create a Disney bubble on cruise ships. They have big demand for cruising. They will debut the Wish in Summer 2022. 2024 and 2025 for the other two ships.

‘Did he adjust his prediction whether Cruise Line would be back up and running last? Tunnel to Disneyland seems much darker

No they can't! 🤣

So does that mean the parks is CURRENTLY at 35% capacity? (like they are letting in only 35% of their max capacity into the parks) .
OR
Does that mean that the resort (as a whole) is only at 35% capacity? (like the hotels (that are open) only have 35% of their rooms sold?)
Hotels are different. This is parks. They are currently there. Resorts can operate higher and sort of have too. They also don’t have all the resorts open.

So right now .. if park reservations for a park (say like DHS) are totally unavailable (in all three buckets) .. that means the park is maxed out at 35% (of whatever their max capacity is) .. Just curious . .any idea what that number would be? (Like what is the estimated max capacity of DHS?) 10,000? 50,000? 100,000? (I really have no clue .. so many people can git in these parks .. it's not like a football stadium where you see everyone at once).

That feels pretty crowded .. but without knowing what "true" crowd levels are on various times of the year during non-covid times, I guess I don't know ... I mean I wonder what a regular day capacity is for the parks pre-covid during "non-busy" months like Jan/Feb or Aug/Sept. Maybe on a "not so busy" day on a Wednesday in January .. the parks wouldn't be near 35% full? *shrug*.

But 35% is their "max" number .. obviously most of the parks (like AK and Epcot) aren't even close to reaching that .. even on the weekends (I would assume?)

It gets dicey and really depends on what they consider 35%. Not that these groups have a large impact on numbers but I don’t believe club 33 and VIPs are really included in that. They have much more free range and can park hop. Chapek himself said they’ve gotten creative in how they look at capacity. That to me signals they are looking at things line queue and ride capacities not just overall.

VIP tours are also heavily restricted. Last I heard was 25 tours per day max, that was this past weekend. They should be included, Disney has reserved 250 spots per day per park for them, which is a low enough number that it’s not too relevant. Club 33 is similar but with less restrictions.
