Does anyone know if Disney is planning anything in Nevada? A friend of my husbands just returned from Las Vegas, and while he was there they went on a tour of Hoover Dam. The tour guide said that Disney had a large piece of land nearby and once the new suspension bridge was built that they would be breaking land in the next year or so, but did't say if it was going to be a resort or a park. Anyone know anything about this??????

hmmmm... I know awhile back Disney had sent out a survey asking if DVC members might be interested in several different locations...Vegas and Tahoe were both mentioned...

A DVC place makes the most sense but Las Vegas isn't really close enough to the Hoover Dam to be a place to stay while at Vegas. Maybe it would be some sort of all inclusive destination resort? :confused3

And boy is it hot in the Hoover Dam area! It was about 105 when we went in July a few years ago. I can't imagine any kind of park there unless it was an ice skating rink! We walked across half the dam and we were just dying. No one would want to walk around a park all day.

I agree! It was about 117 when we went there in July a few years ago and it's a lot more humid than in Vegas because of the lake. It would be miserably hot.

103 in the west is just like 90 in Florida. I would rather be in 103 degrees in Nevada than 90 in Florida. If people walk around Disneyworld in the summer, then they can handle 103 in the west coast.

The heat is more tolerable

Maybe it's going to be a dude ranch type of DVC. You know, like going to Branson MO but it's Disney themed instead. I'd do it!!

ive heard of a Disney themed hotel on the strip for family to go to instead of all the casinos.

Maybe it is a secret holding pen for all the bad guests who cut lines, sneak their 4-year-old in as a 2-year-old, and who do not remain seated with all body parts in the ride vehicle. :lmao: They could invite the bad guest for a DME ride to the new park and then use them bad guests to generate electricity to run their parks. muahaha.

:rotfl2: Hmmm... using bad guests to generate electricity sounds like a very environmentally friendly, "green" way to go! :rotfl:

I agree that a Disney park in Vegas would be WAY too hot. I can barely handle DLR during the summer! Oooh! Maybe they could build an indoor theme park! And Disney is so good at creating illusions they could make it feel like you were outside with perfect weather - not too hot and not too cold. Maybe a nice breeze. :thumbsup2

How about an underground theme park where there is a tram ride around a nature preserve that is located on top of the theme park. Look a tortoise.

Disney can do anything but fix the monorail ramp at TTC and the elevator at Contemporarty to be ECV, wheelchair, disabled and stroller friendly.
