Hello all!
I am an accounting major and interested in pursuing a professional internship after I graduate next year. I am not finding much info and was wondering if anyone here participated in the PI. Any info would be helpful. I guess to start do PI participants live in the same apartments as the CP? And what kind of pay should I expect? Also when people check in to the CP or PI when do they need to be there? I will participate in spring commencement but I will need to finish classes in the summer and will need some time to get things settled here before moving. Will I be able to tell them the date I can be there? I would be looking at September 15. Will they tell me that is too late to show up? TIA.

You should check on FB and see if a group has been started yet for the term you'd like to apply for.

But to answer some questions

1) your arrival date is likely unacceptable. There are set dates for each term and it is an extremely competitive application process.

2) PIs are offered very limited Disney housing on a first come first served basis. Once it is full then you have to find your own housing. It is best to find your own anyway. Disney housing is in the same complex as the CPs but you don't share apartments.

3) pay varies by position. Each position has a set pay but it isn't advertised, your best bet is searching on LinkedIn to find someone who has held the PI your are interested in and ask them what the application, interview process is and see if they will tell you what the pay was for them.

I can't remember if you asked any other questions but hope some of this helps point you in the direction of ppl who can help you out.

Well the timing might just be wrong for me. I wont even finish school until the end of August then I will need to deal with my apartment here and move and find somewhere new. That will take time and it looks like people need to be there before I even finish classes. From what I am seeing people are starting as soon as the first week in August.

Pi programs run June to January and January to June. There are an extremely limited number of roles that aren't that date but they are basically nonexistent.

Thank you. Seeing as I have classes until the end of August I can't do that next year. I thought they were similar to the CP. I have seen people say they were reporting in August and September for CP and I thought I read someone say they were reporting in August for PI but I must have been mistaken. I wonder if I would be able to do January to June 2015? I will look more into that.

My pi is from August 14th until December 14th...and so are a lot of other people's. Most of the pis are June to January or January to June but there are exceptions.

Also, as far as I know, pis and cpers are NOT in the same apartment complex. Pis are in falcon square.

Even that would not work for me as I would have finals until the 16th then I would need at least a few days to get there. I'm going to apply for January 2015 and hope for the best. Thanks. :)

You have to be in school to apply. So if this is your plan, I'd plan on taking a class, any class to remain eligible. Check your preferred PI requirements when it pops up for fall, they will be the same for spring.

January would be the term after I graduate. Would I not be eligible? I cant just take a random class using the GI bill so I would have to pay out of pocket. Plus I will have graduated anyhow. It seems like me finishing in the summer is not going to work out no matter what I do.

I don't support they give you allowance for housing do they?

You have the option to stay in Company Sponsored housing. If you do, it will be automatically deducted out of your paycheck. If not, you are responsible for finding your own living arrangements. Many apartment complexes around town offer short term leases and discounts for Cast Members.

I have a question. I have heard people getting PIs that uploaded a letter of recommendation but I've also heard if they don't ask for it don't do it.. but I've also heard they look at whatever you put up. So I really have no idea if I should upload one or not, but it can't hurt right?

Probably a 99% chance no one will ever see it.

If hired as a PI, do you get status with the company? Or, is it like the CP--no status, time that you work doesn't count towards seniority, etc.?

It says somewhere that the range is $11-$18 per hour. I'd be interested to know more specifics though.

Last time I only applied for alumni only PIs so I'm confused, if I apply for those again as well as separate ones how does the interview work? Is the screening interview for everything you applied for and would you say your top choices out of all of them? Or would it be a separate interview?

Basically screener for all and if you get invited for interviews they'll tell you.

Hah. I wish PI pay was as high as 11. I made 9.x as a PI

My friend just did one and said its salary not hourly - he made 20k a year - roommate made 40k a year doing finance.
