My daughter will be turning 4 and her theme is Disney Princesses.
I will be giving each child a gift to bring home instead of loot bags, and wanted to give each family a small party favor. I am going to order personalized stickers saying thank you for attending ________ birthday party and will put putting those on little decorative bags, but need ideas on what to put in them. First I thought of cute little pink and lavendar cookies, but at that point, I will be a newborn-around a month old, so that might be out of the question for me to do. Something simple and inexpensive.

Also for centerpieces, I will be doing princess balloons, but wanted to do something else with it, possible a candy boutique. Any ideas and if I do go along with the candy theme, online sites with a selection to choose from.

Game ideas would also be helpful. I will have a pinata and the age ranges of these children will be from newborn so that won't matter-I will just get them a Disney toy or such. But around 2-7 years old.

I did princess last year (and will most likely do again) I bought pink handle giftbags and waited, waited, waited for target to drop the price on their $1 spot pink girlie stuff (they usally have something) and bought a bunch of stuff 4 for a dollar, then I bought wands at the party store (in bulk) and Tiara's (target sale again)

And then put it all together.

Maybe for a game have them frost/decorate cookies cupcakes?

For my DD's Princess Party, on the invite we asked all the girls to come dressed as their favorite princess. (I also put a note on the bottom that if anyone needed to borrow a costume to let me know since DD had several) They all looked so adorable!

We also noted on the invite - crowns will be provided. A friend of mine then helped me trace and cut out white crowns sort of like Burger King ones. We then set up a table with washable markers, glue sticks and sparkly jewels and had each princess decorate her crown. We then took photos of each girl in her costume and crown and included that in DD's thank you notes. The moms loved that.

For goody bags, I took the easy approach and went to the Disney Store and bought all sorts of princess stuff for the bags - stickers, little pink rings, bead necklaces.

If you don't have a Disney store, then go to your local party store, you'll be amazed at all the princess stuff they have these days. Your DD will have a blast!

We will have a mix of boys and girls, mostly boys so we are not going to ask them to dress up although I do like that idea.
Do you have the template of the tiaras that you made?
Instead of doing goodie bags, I am doing princess books and activity books and will attach a wand to it. I will do books and such for the boys, but not in a princess theme.
We had decorated cookies one year and that had gone well. We might do that again or do the cupcake idea that was mentioned above.

Thank you.

Im doing Disney Princess for my twins bday! Suzannen-I LOVE your ideas!!! :cutie:  I wonder if theres a way to make it work w/boys too?Id hate to have them left out, or if a girl didnt have a princess costume....hmmm....

I found unique stuff on ebay - bubble filled wands, pin the tail on the unicorn....printed out coloring pages from Disney of the princesses as an activity if they are wound up....

Right now, I am thinking of doing tiaras for the girls and crowns for the boys.
I have wands for the girls, and was thinking of swords for the boys so that they could be knights, but some of the boys coming are rough so I need to find a substitute.

We also did crowns. I just cut them out of poster paper (just freehanded them - these are preschoolers, after all :) ) and when they first arrived they started to color them and decorate with stickers. When they were done I measured them to fit their heads and stapled the ends together. They loved them! We also had everyone dress up and they were just precious. They acted like little princesses, too. The costumes brought out the best in them. Don't discount the idea that little boys wouldn't want to dress up. We had a 6 year old that did. (yes in a dress - his choice. I also had a Peter Pan costume he could have worn).

After they finished their crowns, we played games, then did cake and ice cream, and finally opened presents. It was one of DDs best parties :goodvibes: I made the cake shaped like a castle. It was very easy - a square cake with sugar cone turettes. I made doors and windows with sugar wafer cookies. It was quite easy but looked really cool.

Have fun!

Laurie :)

As of right now, I am thinking of having the kids make their crowns and tiara as they arrive and have some printed coloring pages out.
Then have lunch and dessert.
Have the kids decorate tiara shaped sugar cookies, then play pin the flag on the castle, and then the pinata.
Lastly the birthday cake and open presents.

That should be enough, so I am now thinking of party centerpieces.
An idea that I had was sprinkle coated chocolate pretzel rods in princess pails and for party favors fortune cookies that had a thank you message inside of them. The fortune cookies would be put in decorated cello bags and then sealed with the princess tags that I had gotten personalized saying thank you for coming to _________'s birthday.

How does that sound? I just have to think of the food since I already have the decorations and princess party goods.

Be sure to check out http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/princess.html for princess party ideas.

I just planned a successful CSI/Law and Order sleepover for Girl Scouts with many ideas from that site and will be planning a Snow White party for my dd's 1st birthday in June. It's a great site.

GL! :wizard:

That's basically what I did too. Very simple, the kids were just so excited they didn't care they weren't perfect. We also had 2 boys and instead of having them as princesses, we told them to dress as there favorite character, so they camed dressed as a power ranger and Spiderman. They all loved an excuse to dress up.

Love the pretzel rod and fortune cookie idea and I think the kids will also.

I had checked online and this and that and this is what I came up with.

I purchased a Disney cd that had many themed music, so I will play that as everyone arrives. I will then have the kids make-for the girls journals that has a princess theme to it and they will get a fuzzy pens. And for the boys crowns that they can decorate. I had gotten gems and such that they will be able to decorate it.

Lunch

Pin the flag on the castle game

Pinata

Then the birthday cake.

I had also gotten the Disney waffle maker, so we will make those for everyone who wants one and have a topping like bar. The waffle has an imprint of the prince and princess, to cute.

And as for decorations, I have princess balloons, two different shade of pink streamers, a princess happy birthday banner, princess theme plates, napkins....and will do pink drinks, some pink desserts....

Also for the kids instead of doing regular party bags with small this and that items. I have princess themed books and a wand for the girls, and for the boys activity and story books and bubble bath.

For centerpieces which will also go as party favors, I had ordered a bunch of different color take out boxes that I will put some filling in. Put in the fortune cookies that says thank you for attending the party, and top it off with the personalized princess birthday stickers that I had ordered.

We don't have a Target here, but I have mostly everything that I need and we are more or less set.

grlpwrd took the words right out of my mouth! Birthdaypartyideas.com is my favorite party planning site! I spend MANY, MANY hours there planning my dd's party every year!! :thumbsup2

Here's a few things I did for my dd's 3rd birthday princess party: I made castle invites (from a real Disney card!) personalized with dd's photo behind a door that opened on the front of the castle, games: Ariel's Dive for Pearls (jewels to find in lg. sand tub), Princess Pinata, Cinderella's Enchanted Garden (child had to find matching princess picture in the yard), the girls decorated metallic party hats (with tulle flowing down), the boys decorated crowns (from Target), princess station (body glitter, makeup, earrings). There was a HUGE castle I had made from appliance boxes-it was gorgeous! Windows cut out, skylights, painted gray/pink/purple, banners, etc. A few of the unusual treats in the goody bag: Belle's Rose: kisses wrapped in cellophane with rose stem and artwork tag, Snow White's Poison Apple: candy apples in red cellophane, with nice artwork tags & curly ribbons. Personalized princess magnets to hang from their goody bag. Personalized princess bookmarks. I used 2 long child-sized banquet tables, and chairs..decorated their tables, they loved the plastic personalized goblets!...dd sat in her own "throne". Party helpers dressed like princesses. I always have 2 large photo boards also...one of dd throughout the current year, and the other with friends & family throughout the year. The bathrooms had felt banners saying "prince" or "princess". I made castles out of small boxes with dd's photo on it and personalized re: her b'day, for centerpieces, and balloons were tied to weights which were in the middle of the castles. I made the castle cake, mostly with all different kinds of candy, very little "decorating" to it!

Good luck with your party planning! I'm dying to start planning her Disney party, but it's 7 months away, and I have to plan our new house first!
