Disney Premier Visa card- anyone upgrading?

I'm not upgrading. I found a better rewards program with my favorite airline's connection to MC, which allows me to get to Disney to spend money and earn more points towards my next trip. seems more justifiable to the vacationing ME.

I just viewed my current statement online that closed yesterday. I am very happy to report that I received 5% on my DVC purchase. It still boggles my mind that I actually received this.

Caroline, I was just coming to ask the same thing. I also don't see the 5% bonus I'm supposed to be getting for 90 days. Unless like you said it starts this billing cycle. Mine JUST ended and I had upgraded only about 4 days before it ended.

I know someone said it will be on the statement but I am looking at my statement that just ended March 3 or whatever and the only bonus rewards there are the 2% and it's broken down into the 3 categories. There is nothing re: 5%.

I received my statement today and didn't see the 5%. However, it has the three categories earning 2% and then a separate category titled bonus reward dollars. The bonus reward dollars appears to equal the other 3%.

My first statement after I upgraded came out about a week after I upgraded and I only had the 2%, not the 5%. I called to ask and they said it was because my statement closed so early that the added bonus didn't make it but it would make it on the next one. I have since received my second statement and it did catch up and I see a line for the Bonus 3%.

Hi - just a follow up question on this thread....

I have had my disney visa for years, and am planning to upgrade it. Is there a way to upgrade, get the 5% bonus on spending and all that, AND get the $100 enrollment for annual passholders? (Code 6GSB01) The enrollment websites seem mutually exclusive.

Just wondering if anyone has done this?

Hi,
We also upgraded to the premiere. Can someone help me understand my statement that just closed. (We did the upgrade half way through our statement and immediately saw a notation of "transferred rewards" which equalled our last closing amount plus what was earned for the partial month before upgrade). So I know exactly when the upgrade/bonus took effect. I just can't understand the calculations on the statement that closed yesterday:

2% earn - purchases at Disney locations 12.68
2% earn - purchases at Grocery stores 1.28
2% earn - purchases at Restaurants 3.34
1% earn - all other purchases 12.73
Bonus reward dollars offers 2.93

Each 2% amount is approximately right (within a few cents) - ditto for the 1% amount.
What I can't understand is how $2.93 can be the additional 3% when the 2% amounts total $17.30. Seems like 3% bonus should be around $25.95.

If these "purchases" qualified as Disney, grocery & restaurants for the 2%, wouldn't they also qualify for the bonus 3%?

Just wanted to know if I'm doing something wrong in my figuring before I call Chase.

Thanks for any help,
Debbie

I saw something similar on my first statement after the upgrade. I was told the 2% and extra 3% were calculated at different times and should catch up on the next statement (which did in fact happen). But, it never hurts to call Chase for some piece of mind as we know you may get a different story depending on who you speak with. ;)

Okay, I just called to see if my cards had been shipped and was told by the rep that my upgrade just went official today, so my cards haven't been sent yet, but he would go ahead and get them out today. Totally confused at this point because my online account showed the upgrade on March 7th. It showed the rewards transfer and the premier account verbage on that date, so I thought that all the grocery and gas charges since that date would be earning the 5% rewards. :confused3 Guess I'll have to wait until I get my statement. He did say that my cards should be here in 3-5 days. They certainly haven't made this upgrade easy.

Does anyone know if the Charter Member and Day 1 is printed on your upgraded cards? I think I read all the post and did not see that answer.

Anyone else find themselves not too upset going to the more expensive gas stations since you know you are earning 5%? ;)

I am getting around that by buying AM/PM gas cards at the grocery store and then I also ordered Costco giftcards online paying with my Disney Visa so that I can get the reward dollars on that shopping and gas if I want to, although it is not 5%, so I probably will only use the Costco card for the Costco purchases.

I had just changed my payment due date before I applied for the upgraded card so now my first cycle is 45 days instead of 30, and I am dying on the vine here waiting for that darn closing date so I can see all my rewards. Paid for disney dining plan, and also for hearing aids in addition to all the usual stuff, so bill is huge, but hey, so should be the reward dollars...

Between waiting for those and waiting for my Southwest RR points I am dying of anticipation!!

Hi,

Please forgive me if this has already been answered. There were so many pages that I got tired reading through it all. I signed up for the premiere card and received the $200 Disney Gift Card, which is different than the Disney Rewards Redemption Card.

Does anyone know if the gift card can be used toward the balance due on our hotel ressies (PQFQ) or can that only be used for park merchandise and food? I plan on using the Disney Rewards card during our trip, but I would like to use the gift card toward the room if possible.

Thanks,

Yes it can be use towards hotel.

I decided not too. The rewards are only 2% on some categories and only can be redeemed for Disney. As much as I love Disney and travel a lot there now, what if I don't in the future? I am sticking with my Amex Blue. I get 6% back on groceries, 3% on gas and department stores, 1% on everything else. Then those rewards are redeemable for CASH. Cash I can use at Disney! :)

Been charging like CRAZY on our upgraded card. Looks like no free dining for us this year so we'll use our rewards for food. Stinks paying that bill each month, but I'm going to enjoy stuffing my belly this summer!

$162.67 bonus reward dollars last month!!!! More than paid for my $49 annual fee.

Just got back from a cruise on the Magic so can't wait to see my rewards on the next statement. :)
