I've been wondering, with how brilliant Disney is with their marketing, why have they not changed the Indy Speedway into a ride featuring their movie Cars? It's race cars in Disney, and it would probably be a cheap (for Disney) renovation. Just change the bodies of the cars, and change the cars outside of the ride into Lightning McQueen and Mater (or Sally). Oh, and of course the requisite 'Cars' merchandise shop at the exit of the ride.

Probably because if they changed it there would be a revolt of Disney fans! Remember when Disney announced that they were planning changes to IASW?? Or when some suggested replacing CoP? I think that an Icon like Indy is just about untouchable!

They will be having a true Cars ride over here in CA. Radiator Springs Racers will be a part of the new CarsLand at California adventure and will be similar in design/ride type to Test Track. They had one of the car prototypes at D23 - very cool! I can't wait!!!!!

Reto- That is a great shot! I have never seen Main Street so empty & I love the detail that sometimes gets lost in the crowds. Thank you for posting this!! Shhh truth be told i get emotional everytime I walk down Main Street when I first arrive.

Jud - loved the pic of the rainy day 1997 with all the yellow Mickey ponchos! We were there in March 1997 and I still have my poncho. Must have been the year of the cake castle and ponchos - it was my first trip to WDW and they turned the castle into a cake. I was SO disappointed but it was cute too.
