I'm seeing Miss Piggy.![]()
Can someone help me? I have a kodak M1033 10 megapixels I bought last year to take to Disney and it won't hold a charge it would only last me a half a day until it died so I missed out on many pics. I bought a new battery for it and it dies even faster than the other one. I would like a point and shoot I can depend on to last all day in the parks. I like the zoom I have now and I like a large screen so I can see the pics well. I don't want to spend a fortune but I want to know it will work well. Can someone tell me what I should get?
Thank you for any help!
Go to Wal mart and get what ever P&S they have that runs on double A's. Any of them is going to give you decent pics. All of my cameras use double A's.
If you can find one in your immediate need, you could get a Canon A1000 and it does good pictures and much better videos than it should (which is what I bought it for after using a friends)
I am specific about the A1000, NOT the 1100 or the 2000.

Thankyou for the info I'll go to Wal-mart this week and check it out. How long to the double A's last? I took 696 pics last year and would have taken alot more if the stupid camera worked!
Oh! You have time! I thought you were like there right now and needed to quickly buy a camera!
I use rechargeables and always carry a spare set. Usually make it through a day without swapping out and I shoot roughly 300 images per day per visit, plus video. But I do carry three cameras. (Though in general I shoot all my stills with my Olympus C740 and all vid with the A1000.)
How much do you want to spend? The things I was talking about were in the 100 or less range. The A1000 might be 129... if anyone has it in stock.
But if you have time, then check out what's available and know what it is you want for features. On general principles, I stay away from anything that is proprietary, including batteries. I want zoom, but megapixels can trump that. For instance, my 5X zoom on my 10 Megapixel camera is going to trump my 10X zoom on my 3 Megapixel. Only optical zoom counts: digital zoom is pointless other than ruining the original- it is the same as simply making the image larger on your puter so do it there.
Seems like size, ease of use and view screen are your items of concern and those are going to be pretty much okay on any of them, so the only real variable is zoom and personal preference. Unless you are willing to jump up to the 300-400 or higher range and then you get into the finer points of image quality and capabilities of the camera.
